definitely pavlik - lockett because lockett was a whipping boy. the other 2 deserved to be in a ring with their opponents and earned their stripes first.

Cotto Gomez was the worst mismatch IMO. At least Lockett landed a couple good punches. Gomez was getting knocked down with jabs.

the worst out of the bunch is diaz??

lockett was an obscure european not deserving of a shot and diaz was an underskilled but respected world champ fighting the P4P champ.

come on....that's an insult to diaz.

According to the bookies the biggest mis-match of recent times was DeLaHoya v Forbes.

I voted for Pavlik-Lockett, which was the longest at the bookies and looked the most one-sided to me.

I have to disagree that a divisional strap-holder taking on a smaller man can be less one sided than an unranked middleweight taking on a top class champ.

cotto v gomez, being on a tv show doesnt give you the right to face somebody in everybodies p4p top 5, lockett is a close second and shouls stick to british and commonwealth titles if he continues

    In order from biggest mismatch

    1- Pavlik -vs- Lockett
    2- Cotto -vs- Gomez
    3- Pacquiao -vs- Diaz

Its very close between the first two. Lockett was no better than a domestic fighter at his peak and the same can be said for Gomez(I think he is slightly above that level myself). I placed Pavlik -vs- Lockett first based solely on the fact that Gomez had at least fought somebody leading up to the fight. Gomez had been fighting for a shot at the title and it looked to me like Lockett was content fighting out of the UK for the rest of his career till he was thrown to the wolf. Either way, neither of them looked to stand a chance against their respective opponents. So I can see how people could pick Cotto -vs- Gomez.

Pacquiao -vs- Diaz shouldn't be mentioned in this case and is a distant, distant third. Diaz is a competent fighter and was in there with what is now in many people's estimation the P4P #1 fighter. Diaz is, in my opinion, well above a domestic/regional fighter.

The only reason why Gomez lasted longer with Cotto was because Cotto b-up a little bit and Gomez has a bigger heart than Lockett. That's all!
