Hamed only got like 18% of the vote the first year he was on the ballot. I don't see him getting in ever. I don't fault Boxers for the personal lives everyone makes mistakes nobody is perfect. Hamed getting in a wreck while drunk would have no bearing on me not voting for him. The guy was way overhyped handpicked opponents and then retired in disgrace after getting his ass schooled by MAB.

Counterpoint being McGuigan is a nice fellow and that probably helped him get in.

I would just judge what they did in the ring.

Naz was very good for a fairly short period of time, and a good champion, but cant be considered an elite/ATG cos the whole show just fell apart after he lost a fight. Great fighter's come back from losses.
He believed his own hype and payed for it with his career.

i would say (b)... had he came back and not lost the "will" to box after one lose, i'd say he might as well be an All TIme Great.. but he's a HOF in my opinion

:good Yeah some fair points, like you said McGuigan is a nice fellow which helped him get in. The thing about the drink driving episode is he had his MBE taken off him, which was given to him for services to sport. So even though you and me would only judge by boxing merits, whether you like it or not politics plays a role as well in awards being given.

Rico, as a big Anglophile you should already be aware of the fact that no one outside of the US gives a **** about this 'Hall of Fame' buisness.

Its an alien concept to us, I'm assuming its basically a glorified museum.

That said, if Barry McgGuigan is in this illustrious establishment, I don't see any reason why a linear/unified three-time world champ, and globally famous international superstar like Hamed, shouldn't be in there as well.

Option 2 for me. That's self explanatory.

MAB is the only elite fighter he fought . . . lost and quit.

Someone between 2 and 3. Very good fighter who couldn't beat the elites as proven by MAB. That said Naz' ability to put on a show is probably top 20 ATG status. From the flashy entrances which we could probably use more of to the over the top interviews to the brilliant hand speed and power he displayed in the ring, dude was the total package.
