Yeah, missed that. Didn't read the first post of the thread.

What do you think about the rest of my post?

-Have you ever watched BIG FOOT? Please, explain his style and how it makes up for such a huge...considerable quality gap.

    -So?

err, that was '92 . . . he fought and beat carl "the truth" williams in 91. Up to that point he beat page, tillis, tubbs, the bonecrusher (who he later lost to). So why would it be so unbelievable?

Adamek might beat 91' Witherspoon, he'd have a good chance in fact. Can't argue with anyone picking Tomasz in that match up.

    The rest though......

These are the year end 91 rankings, these are the rankings going into 92, so I would say the year they apply to is very relevant.

Spoon showed up in great shape for the Martin fight(under 230), and got embarressed.

No, my argument is that if a club fighter ex LHW Martin can upset Spoon, why can't a great cruiser.

So you think just because he got beat by Everett Martin, years later and not at the date specified; it's a blueprint that Witherspoon would get beat by Adamek too.

I have no problem with people picking Adamek to beat a Witherspoon on the decline, though personally I haven't seen enough from Adamek at HW to fully convince me that he could, I'm not impressed with him there at all. He's a very decent cruiser but a HW who is lacking in many departments. If he keeps shipping punches the way he is he's not going to get any better and will start losing to inferior opponents he maybe would have beat, maybe even a Spoon on the decline?! Hey?

If folk wish to pick Adamek over Spoon they can, around this date he's one of the weakest candidates on the list.

What's your point? That you are trying to make out the list is full of weak fighters? I've already told you if you think that you can swap a 91 version of Spoon for a 91 version of Frank Bruno who doesn't even make the list and someone who I think would beat Adamek.

So you haven't seen Big Foot fight and this is possibly the first time you ever even heard of him..ok :patsch

No, sadly Spoon isn't even the weakest in my humble opinion. Mercer and Foreman are.

To beat Adamek, Bruno would have to do something he never did before at that stage, beat a ranked contender without gassing or blanking out...:think Oh and believe me, he had some gimmes. Such as fat Witherspoon and the limited Bonecrusher. Bruno was the 80s Golota, I can't see him not ****ing things up somehow. And Tyson didn't knock him out of the rankings, he had been out of them for years. Tyson just ran out of people to fight and Bruno was staying busy with cans, damn Carl Williams just inherited the #2 spot after everyone ahead of him got demolished and he went on a little roll.

I doubt Adamek would have been ranked back then for a start. I'm sorry but I can see Bruno stopping Adamek. This is the man who out boxed Lennox Lewis for much of the fight, acceptably a while later.

As far as the 'limited Bonecrusher goes', he did a decent job of tying up Tyson.

That's another one kicking around at this time but not making the list, Tommy Morrison. No great, but decent relatively.

you are really splitting hairs here, even if it is true it is the rankings going into 92 they did not fight until the second half of that year. during or just after '91 there is no indication adamek would be able to beat Tim. going into that fight I am sure spoon would have been the favourite over martin, the same way he would be the favourite going in against adamek. All that being said I think the author is asking in the year 1991 (the year in which they are ranked) who would win. if he was asking about 92 he would have said 92.

So your argument is a fail on all fronts

Rob, Mongoose is talking out of his ass! george only loss since his comeback was that year to evander who was the undefeated GOAT at Cruiser and later mutliple heavyweight champ . . . who you cannot compare to adamek . . . who hits like a small child. Mercer was merciless against tommy that night, they where both undefeated, prime and hungry! he later lost to the great Holmes who I know you cannot compare adamek too!
