There's a personal story that'll give you an idea of how differently Khan was viewed back in the day,but I'll just PM you over the next day or two as it contains some material that I don't want to risk being misinterpreted.:good

More Margo here.Is it just me or does he look like a big version of Morales in this fight?

I actually didnt like him early on but only really because of the very competitve nature of a relationship i have with one of my friends. he was touting khan big time so i kind of took a stance against him for the fun of it. nothing really much against him other than that at the time. but i suppose i did see him as an overly protected type too and resented the fact that a guy with so few fights ended up headlining ppv's. of course these things werent his fault. Funnily enough this attitude has completely changed as i went from not much minding him as a personality to disliking him and from thinking he was over protected to only respecting him for his willingness to fight the best.

Back then, you used to hope he'd get in trouble but be OK about him pulling through(apart from Limond, because I had pals who knew Willie well) but now, even though he's still great value for money, you kinda want to see him getting put on silly street.
Glad you're enjoying the thread mate.:good

Thanks mate, and same to everyone else for the kind comments.
I hope people keep it going, because I love nothing more on ESB than learning about new/old stuff that I wasn't previously aware of.

    Great thread, PTF.

For me, it would be watching Moorer slowly break down Botha. He was punch perfect. Atlas ragging on Moorer made for an interesting sideplot.

I know Ted cops big jobbies on here but I've often thought that if he'd trained more big names he would've provided some of the best moments from between rounds of all time mate.

Great fight mate, but don't you think it falls into the "celebrated" group?

I suppose you're right, I just think it gets overshadowed by some of his others.
