Make your own mind up - newspapers, TV channels (HBO) and promotion folk (GBP) have their own agenda. A lot of it is to sell a fight/fighter.

Best thing to do to watch/score a close fight is to stick it on, hit mute and MAKE YOUR OWN MIND UP.

Not passionate, just baffled why you'd include one fight you'd never seen in a thread where you've asked people to post their cards after seeing fights. :huh

Also, again, it's an example of not giving forgotten man any credit. Who the ****'s he, he couldn't have beat Hopkins, it must have been a bogus decision, etc, etc. Someone on here tried to do this once with Sal Sanchez's early loss and, when challenged by me, basically had **** all evidence other than "some bloke". Like you he hadn't even read a fight report himself.

Well, many four round fights fit this bill. Even if a card read: 2-1-1, this could be perceived has having "nothing in it". Doesn't mean the decision was bad.

Completely agree :) I don't understand the "a loss is a loss" mentality.

Well, a worse mentality is some fanboy desperately trying to find evidence that one of his heroes was jobbed out of a fair decision. Is this you?

Also included walker-flowers although to be fair they're both asterixed off quite clearly.

It's not about giving credit, I looked into it and reached this conclusion. If you wanna convince me otherwise, go for it. I don't have any bias and I do have an open mind so let's have it.

Obviously the ideal situation would be that every fight ever is available to watch. If you don't like going by second hand evidence that's fair enough. In the absence of first I am more than willing to do so.

Yep many do and i'm sure if I had the motivation I could find many I disagree with. Maybe i'll look into sal's early loss one day? Who knows.

Missed that one, to be even fairer, where is it mentioned in the original post?

Saw the SRL V Hagler fight live, and thought Ray won within the actual rules. And furthermore, the look on Hagler's face at the bell, said he knew it too.

Can't see anyone thinking Froch beat Kessler.

I don't understand the whole "turn the sound of and you'll score it better" thing at all.

No. I'm a 23 year old white english man. No reason to have hopkins as my hero. Don't particularly like the guy.

Rearranged the op to make it clearer for you.

I am/was too young to have watched Ray-Hagler, but having seen it numerous times on tape/DVD, I had it for Hagler. I'm biased because I love Hagler (no Manilow), but he did enough.

Froch - Kessler - Kessler every time. Landed more decisive punches. Just my 2 cents.

Some people are influenced by commentators I guess?

The sound doesn't work on my monitor anyways.

Home Box Office (USA/worldwide) have a knack of hyping fighters and fights to shift units, so you get Jim Lampley and Max Kellerman giving kudos to certain fighters because they know they'll make the channel money in the future.

Sky Sports (UK) have four or five **** commentators - my Dad and me always have the same telephone conversation after a Sky broadcast, namely whatever Jim Watt says, go with the opposite.

For me, I love good commentary - Al Bernstein (no Manilow). But if you don't want to be swayed by a journo/commentator in a fight, hit mute and watch.

Ian, how did you score the khan-maidana fight? I can't see anyone having maidana up.
