Ray Leonard, Muhammad Ali, Frazier, Foreman, Michael Spinks, Hoya, Whitaker, Gamboa, Maske, Lennox Lewis, Wladimir...

.... are a few Olympic gold medalists that become world champions, but they all had taken a steady approach towards a world title shot, at least in comparison with Lomachenko.

Although Lomachenko is a 400 fight veteran, Salido has been in the "hurt" game for almost 2 decades learning pretty much every trick in the book, well acquainted in taking and dishing out punishment.

Lomachenko did however give a good account of himself losing a close fight while not being bothered too much, which other former Olympic gold medalists would you consider capable of beating a tough rugged champ like Salido in their second bout?

    ---------------------------------

    For example:-

Sugar Ray Leonard vs Provodnikov, Lamont Peterson or Maidana

Its a big ask for any fighter and I doubt many could do it, including some of the ATGs you mention.
Possibly Rigondeaux, as he beat a decent fighter in Cordoba in his 7th fight and a top fighter (Donaire) in his 12th fight, but even then thats plenty more than 2 fights and I couldnt say with conviction

Impossible to say, Lomachenko looked as good an amateur as those who will likely be listed and he had an advantage many other amateurs wouldn't have in WSB semi pro fights.

Rigondeaux is a good call. I think Lomachenko would have beaten Salido had he taken the same route as Rigondeaux, like going to Ireland to fight in the opponents backyard and also training under experienced trainers like Roach and Mayweather Sr who know the professional game well.

But I agree, Rigondeaux seems capable.

    Kindelan might be worth consideration.

Ali, Frazier,Foreman,Lennox and Wlad definetly wouldn't as it would be near impossible to win a heavyeight title that quick, its easier in the lower divisions. Id also give Gamboa,Spinks and Maske no chance. Id give Leonard and Whittaker a very slim chance. The best chance id give is De La Hoya if he fought Jimmi Bredahl in his 2nd fight he might have beaten him

I am sure Kindelan is capable of beating a LW champ like Demarco or Broner in his 2nd fight.

But what about Kindelan in his 2nd fight against a champ like Ricky Burns, or Edwin Valero.
