Big Ernest Hemingway fan here. Always wanted to watch a bull fight. I hear they are trying to phase them out in Spain for being "inhumane." I thought about bringing that up in the recent 14 year old Thai boxing thread, but the waters were already muddy.

boxing is the most fatal, mma and muay thai probably have a higher risk of non fatal injury

Boxing is more dangerous than Muay Thai in terms of the longer period of fighting (12 rounds vs 5 rounds) and Muay Thai is more dangerous than boxing in terms of various attacking weapons that you can use against your opponent (elbows, knees, legs, and fists). It's just my opinion.

Statistically it’s probably boxing due to its long history and number of worldwide practitioners. However, having trained and competed internationally in Boxing, Karate, MMA and Muay Thai I would say that the training sessions of MMA and Muay Thai take a hell of a toll on the body. In Thailand you’ll see ‘young’ men in their 30’s coaching Muay Thai who walk with one or two sticks for assistance. Then again, fighting isn’t supposed to be good for your health and well being, it’s designed to destroy other people’s.

I just went looking for footage of old football players who can barely walk in their thirties and instead I found this.

MMA KO's can be far more violent. If you've seen one of Cro Cop's 1-kick - KO's you know what I'm talking about.

On the other hand, MMA fights are far shorter, and head trauma isn't always necessarily involved.

On the other, OTHER hand, we have this:

Boxers have the most skills for directly snapping your brain all over the place with the most lethal accuracy, at full power, and boxers lend the most % of their shots to the head. It's a no-brainer (no pun intended), boxing is probably waaaay to dangerous to be allowed, see all the unfortunate ex-fighters that can't talk right, have seizures and brain bleed and go on a rampaging downward spinal. I mean spiral.

Rugby union in the U.K. is the most dangerous in terms of non fatal injuries. Various knee, head, back, neck and bone breakages are very common.
There are tons of rugby players who get very serious injuries every year and it’s becsuse there is no padding at all and the sport revolves around guys smashing into each other at full force.

Boxing is the most dangerous in terms of fatalities

I'd say boxing, 12 rounds of constant and consistent head trauma dished out by someone who's spent their entire life training to dish out constant and consistent head trauma. The toll later in life I feel would be far more profound that nearly any other sport
