Which other heavy weight champ could have defeated ali in FOTC as convincingly as frazier?

Ali had had 2 "tune-up fights" JQuarry & Bonavena...and Bonavena had pushed Ali himself.
Frazier of course had just blown out LtHvy Champ Bob Foster.

Frazier's left hook was at it's most deadly for the FTC. Nobody realized it at the time, but the stars were aligned in Frazier's favor pre-fight.

Yes he was beaten that night obviously. But do I think most heavy s could have done it with the same intensity and will not be denied attitude as frazier? No way. He wasn't the greatest version by a long shot that night , ali, but it would take a special kind of fighter imo to beat him, and drop him. No one ever dropped ali in his career and beat him at the same time. Joe was pushing ali like never before and probably never again.

On the night foreman was beaten by Ali, could he have been beaten by any other heavy weight in history to? No he couldn't. And that's what made Joe s win so good imo

    The
No sorry but I don't see foreman stopping ali or beating him. Ali was a few years older when he actually ko's George so don't see that happening at all. It's like saying a younger version of frazier would stop foreman. No version of frazier ever beats George. And no version of foreman would beat ali, especially a muhammad in his late 20 s.

Those two have the qualities that frazier had in that fight. So yes very good chance.

In fact those two are top of the list imo, of giving ali at any point of giving him the fight of his life. Frazier always gave him a hard night and dempsey and marciano would equal that in abundance.

Actually I can't really think of many Heavyweights I'd pick to beat Foreman that night. Lewis? Bowe? Neither of them could take what George dished out. Lewis didn't have the chin and Bowe lacked the defense. Maybe Louis?

    Imma start a thread.

That's my point really. And I think frazier in FOTC really was a select few that could have beaten him in that fashion. I m certainly not saying he was unbeatable, obviously he was, but even against a rusty ali it takes a special kind of fighter

It doesn't matter how old he is. What matters is his physical condition. Ali was in better condition during Rumble in the Jungle than he was in FOTC. Stop looking at the fight on paper and start actually watching them on film.

All of those guys I mentioned are special fighters considering they are regarded as ATG's apart from Vitali.

We are talking about MUHAMMAD ALI here not Foreman. You post makes absolutely no sense. You are saying because I said that Ali was very beatable that night that that means I think Foreman was very beatable. That's a strawman argument at its finest. Logically fallacious.

I didn't say Ali could have been beaten by anybody. Hence why I only named fighters seen as the top of the heavyweight division of all time. I never once named some Joe Shmo from nowhere.

Its thepost where u claimed he was very beatable that night I was referring to. Absolutely I agree but only by a select few. And yes the name s u gave were credible, I give you that. The thing I was trying to point out with foreman was this, foreman lost to ali in 74 right?. But did that mean any ATG could also have beaten him that night?. And same for ali , he was beaten by Joe and wasn't his best but only a few other could do that to him. Hope that clears it up a bit.

Of course 1974 Ali could have lost to some other HWs in history are you for real? The man was 7 years past his best.
Or maybe you mean Foreman of Zaire... well thats even more obvious foreman was an incredibly strong and powerful guy but he was very very limited and SEVERAL Hws in history could have beaten him that night.
