Certainly the end of the broadcast was not entertaining in anything other than it was a controversial event.
There was something strangely voyeuristic about it as people tried to shelter Hagler from the missiles. It is unsettling to see it happen and almost surreal.

Let's hope that sort of thing has died out with a decline in football related incidents.

It clearly was set up by the National Front. I was living in Crawley at the time (where Minter was from) and he was trouble. He had no issue with having this type of support, indeed pre fight infamously suggested that no 'black man' was going to take his title.

Then making Hagler strip for the extra ounce really did not help things either.

Granted Bulldog, but boxing was more mainstream back then.

If it gains in popularity (in the UK anyway) as it seems to be doing there's an increased chance of this thing happening again though, as you say, you'd like to think this type of incident is becoming rapidly outdated.

Well, there are a few National Front types on the British forum, or is it just one spamming the place ?

Yeah Palomino rightly got a ton of respect over here. But Davey Boy; you should not have blown that!

I remember Barrera coming over here and destroying poor Paul Lloyd in 1 round. Yeah the opposition wasn't great Marco looked awesome that night.

Definitely Hagler but I agree with another poster above that Azumah Nelson would be up there

His uppercut to knock Cowdell clean out remains the best punch I've ever seen

    It was brutal
