I consider myself one of the ultimate authorities on Hagler, and I say Obelmejias II.

It's Obelmejias II. Alright? Followed by:

    Obelmejias I
    Hamsho I
    Minter

His performance against Hearns. That fight shows his great chin, and great will to win. Had that fight not happened, his greatness in those areas would have been up for debate more so than now.

I always wondered where Sibson went to after the Hagler fight. Now, I know. Thanks.

Why do you disagree? I have his entire filmed career on DVD. I have even watched the Willie Warren and Doug Demmings fights four or five times each.

I don't claim to be an expert on much, but Marvin Hagler is my territory.

I think the hearns fight. Hagler beat a great 160 fighter that night (i dont think hearns has ever been better at 160.) and i suggest many great middles would have got their ass handed to them going at tommy like that. I would go further and say no middle in history has the tools to walk in against tommy like hagler did without being dismantled or dropping the attacking strategy like a hot potato.
The hearns fight showed haglers fierce determination, skill, sheer bloody mindedness, chin and warrior pride. Many fighters have the guts to hang on when hurt or retreat tactically but hagler just kept that foot on the gas and took his licks like a super warrior. Im glad this fight occured, it showed the true greatness of both men,and both were never quite the same again.
Im quite sure robinson and archie moore were in attendence at this greatest of all battles, and commentary by harry mullan suggested that even the great sugar nodded his head and knew hed seen true greatness in the ring that night, with a perfomance even he couldnt top.

SugarNGold - Sadly for Sibson, after Blitzing John Collins, He Ran into a Dangerman Ambush by the name of Dangerous Don Lee in a real See-Saw Battle Don Shocked Tony and derailed his world Title Plans
Sibbo went back to homeland domestic's.

For sheer awesomeness of tougness and tenacity of course it has to be the Hearns fight. However, the fight where I think he peaked was against Scypion. Not much competition in front of him that night but just watch the performance. A champion at the peak of his powers. That night, would have been a match for any middle in history. Check out the speed, movement, combinations and power. That version of Hagler would have simply overwhelmed SRL who was wise enough to aviod him like the plague at that time.

He really impressed me against Minter. Hearns must get a mention as well.
