Based on the main event alone, which is better value for money? :think

    MAYWEATHER VS BERTO

It's the experience and the master class that I want to see.

Mayweather is fairly tricky. Don't think Berto will put a master class on him

One will be a tactical mismatch, the other will be a blowout via display of power.

    Neither's really up to task.

That said, I'd imagine Mayweather-Berto sells considerably better, unless HBO revolutionizes their marketing strategy.

The marketplace will decide ... let's see which does more buys.

My money is on Money to outsell the other fight. We'll see.

That would be my guess as well. It is, after all, the paying customers who will ultimately decide the better value.

Since I'm still hoping PPV will die a slow agonizing death following Floyd-Pac, I'm hoping they both tank causing everyone involved to lose precious amounts of dough.

What is the point of asking this question, which is better, Mayweather vs Cotto or Golovkin vs Munroe?

I would say Mayweather will outsell, but it's not really a fair comparison when Mayweather's market is so much bigger (no, that's not an innuendo...) since so many more casual fans know of Mayweather and purchase his fights, regardless of who he fights. Mayweather, after all, has spent much longer building his brand, it's more widely know, and people purchase that brand, regardless, so Mayweather generating more buys is not really an indicator that May-Berto is a better buy than GGG-Lemieux, moreso it's a confirmation that Mayweather's brand is better than Golovkin's brand.

I'm kinda with Rummy on this one. I hope both tank, so that maybe at the very least, we will see PPV pricing drop some. $80+ for an HD PPV card is getting ridiculous.

Hopefully David vs Gennady will be a reasonable PPV price. No need for $50 PPV's
, how about $29.99 instead. That's the revolution.

Hmmm... Depends on the prices. If May-Berto is standard 65-75 bucks, and GGG is priced competitively, I'd imagine it's close with Mayweather doing slightly better numbers.

Edit: but I can't say which is more value for the money until I know the prices. Golovkin will be more exciting but a shorter match, both are mismatches but Golovkin's should be more competitive.

Yea I think so too. With Golovkin, his haters won't pay. With Mayweather, his lovers and haters tune in lol
