In my view, Prime Jack Dempsey would bring the war, with a high volume of hard punches, that could take Oleksandr Usyk out of his comfort zone. That type of pressure is hard to deal with. In the great Oleksandr Usyk's case I think Dempsey's type of pressure could very well negate many of Usyk's attributes.
Dempsey has the best chance, or maybe Jeffries in anything 15 or over, preferably 20 rounds. Wouldn't pick either to win though. PED era fighters should not be compared with pre PED era fighters.
He was a big fella for the day, had power, and apparently, when he was young, he was pretty cat-like. He is often thought of as a plodder because the only footage available of him is when his best days were done, good posters on here have posted descriptions from reporters of his better days.
Tunney, Braddock, Loughran, Schmeling, Sharkey, Wills, Dempsey, Miske and Fulton all should win. Max Baer and Sharkey certainly can win but wouldn't consistantly. I actually think Langford would beat Usyk too but with great difficulty.
I agree. Dempsey was fast as hell, had a huge left hook and right hand. He had the combination punching. Great fight.
Max Schmeling. Has the speed, power, skill and stamina to nullify Usyk's greatest strengths and the set comes with the greatest right cross which will be a southpaw's nightmare. Tunney also deserves a mention though.
