I'd say it's more likely to do more damage, though it's still coming in at a downward angle towards the temple/cheek bone area so will to a degree be absorbed by the neck and traps. A clean left hook (right hook for southpaws) seems very difficult for the body to brace for. The power seems to transmit itself directly to the brain.
Uppercut to the body by the power hand i think would generally make the hardest impact. Id bet most orthodox fighters would throw a harder right hook than left in terms of sheer power..
can anyone show me a tyson dip(bending of knees) and rise(straightning legs) uppercut? i know for his left hook he'd quickly torgue left so the hook got a fuller range and reached full power, never noticed he used to dip and rise for the upper though, anyone? i've just watched a tyson HL and nothin
I really like overheads though 1:15 [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f-JFOYQu_jA[/ame] With the right bodyweight you can make a bobblehead out of everyone. Butterbean really hit him good, one of the best placed overheads ever.
Oh sure, a good right hand can take out anyone if it hits them flush enough. Usually results in spectacular KOs as well.
by the eleventh second mark he was already standing more or less straight up, and the hop wasn't to put power on the shot, but to move foward to continue his barrage of punches on his retreating opponent come on man
NASTY! Looks like dude's neck broke. Reminds me of this : This content is protected There you go : This content is protected
The punch is just a delivery system, its the person who delivers it with the right technique and force that determines its effectivness. Left hooks, straight rights and lefts are generally the most commonly thrown punches so they tend to be the punches most people associate with power. However any punch thrown with the proper technique and appropiate power is just as deadly.:bbb
[ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g-478QGV9pc[/ame] Go to 1:12 At 3:08 he dips his legs again for a sort of uppercut/hook. At 8:55 another massive, long, rt uppercut, after dipping both his leg and his shoulder. It's just ridiculous.
