Not at all actually. Shame that eliminates an easy form of attack without having to actually check the facts for you, eh?

''Bell rins once gloves clear the canvas''

He was up before Wright even turned to Andrade therefore the fight was over at that point so the rest is bla bla.
If anything the timekeeper didn't do his job.

Just asking.....but I'm no Andrade fanboy....never even saw him fight, except for replays of the last round of that fight. Wright didn't start his count right away. Stopped it......because Andrade was a few feet out of the corner........picked up where he left off, without accounting for the time that had elapsed. Waited for the bell. Ding......fight's over. I'm sure it was embarrassing for him as a professional.

Of course you can't get knocked out if you are on your feet before the count is finished. Is this new to you?

When a fight is still in progress, you might get to your feet, but not be allowed to carry on by the referee. This is referred to (as those who actually follow the sport will know) as a 'technical knock out' and is used to protect the boxer from the possibility of serious harm. Obviously, if a fight is already over when the boxer rises, clearly no further harm can possibly come to the boxer (and a referee cannot 'stop' a fight that has already finished) so that does not apply.

    Hope that helps.

the question is, how long did it take for Bute to get up? I counted 26 seconds. 6 seconds were left in the fight, and it took Bute 26 seconds to rise up while the referee kept yelling at Andrade to get back in his corner. Bute gets up after 26 seconds, out on his feet. the fight is over, but did Bute get up BEFORE the fight was over? NO. He was Knocked out.

How do you manage to come to that conclusion when you actually quoted me saying "Once he did the fight was over"? :patsch

Bue goes down at 0:59 on the recording and is on his feet at 1:07. You must count bloody fast to get to 26...

    Bull****.

First off there were less than 5 seconds when he went down, the clock dissapears at 5 seconds and it takes Bute about 2-3 more seconds to go down.
Now you're counting skills are **** as he beat the count at 6.Even if you count slowly he beats it at 8 or 9 since beating the count is when ''his hands clear the canvas'' per rules.
Besides the count gets stopped when the ref turns to the other fighter to warn him.

Hey you know what Cobbler....just watched it again. He was on his feet in 8 seconds but it took the referee until 24 seconds to check his fortitude. Not as bad as I thought. But not good either.

The only problem is that the timekeeper doesn't ring the bell when Bute is back on his feet as he should have done. If the timekeeper had done his job properly then the bell should have rung before the referee even noticed that Andrade was halfway across the ring.

You just quoted me earlier sayin there was no fight to go on with as to the reason as why Wright didnt even check on Bute, then say he wasnt saved by the bell because the fight wasnt over.

So by your premise, its ok to be out of it before the end of the bell but not ok after it.

and besides the bell rang more than 20 seconds longer than it should have. It was a fix in Montreal, showtime knew it, the fans in the arena knew it when they half heartily cheered Bute at the end and everyone who knows boxing knew it.

I've been following boxing for 30 years, long before there WAS an internet - and you'd have to be blind not to see he did EVERYTHING he could to get Bute extra time to recover. Short of Richard Steele or Joey Curtis, one of the worst performances I've seen from a ref.
