Which win would you say was the most shocking in your view? Both Teofimo and Haney were coming off a career defining performanfe (Lomachenko, Prograis) and fought a guy that almost everyone gave little to no chance. Kambosos and Garcia instead shocked the boxing world with a major upset. Personally I think with the talent and skills that Teo and Haney have they should have been able to win but they weren’t mentally ready for what was in store for them.
Kambosos beating Teo was much more shocking Especially considering that Teo is better than Haney, and Kambosos is worse than Garcia
Garcia beating Haney is so surprising due to Ryan exhibiting behaviour that would get anyone normal institutionalized. I’m still not even sure it was very ethical to let him fight, and if he lost I’m sure we’d be talking about how he shouldn’t have even been there. There’s memeing, and then there’s genuinely troubling behaviour. To Kambosos’ credit; he did beat decent fighters in Selby and a past it Bey so it’s not like he was a total scrub. Not only that, he’s someone who was clearly in the mental state to fight. Ryan wasn’t. Still( I would like to see Ryan vs. Kambosos, or at least I would’ve enjoyed it when it could’ve happened at 135. Would’ve been a fun slugfest.
Kambosos is a one hit wonder, so him beating Lopez is more shocking. Garcia and Haney are 3-3 in the amateurs, so there is nothing shocking about his victory. I always knew it was a dangerous fight for Haney because of Garcia's power.
At the time of the fight I knew that Kambosos was going to win so I wasn't shocked so for me Garcia beating Haney was more shocking.
Kambosos beating Teo.............after Teo fairly outdueled a fighter as gifted as Loma was shocking. I like most others thought Haney was gonna win, but I (like a few others) was saying there was a real possibility that Ryan could clip Haney. I didn't think Kambosos winning was even in the realm of reality.
I must be in the minority then. I know he just beat Loma but I never saw Teo as a "king of the division" type like I viewed Haney before the weekend.....genuinely thought he was capable of beating all the styles between 135/140.
