Super bantam weight is red hot right now and unlike middleweight, 2 of the top 4 are facing each other this Saturday in Dickens v Galahad.

    Which rivalry is more exciting:

    Barker - Lee - Murray - Macklin

    Or

    Frampton - Galahad - Quigg - Dickens

Hopefully the lighter men end up doing some sort of round robin. The middleweights have let themselves down by not facing each other.

I agree mate but I think if Barker gets through his next fight which looks like it will be Sturm. I think we might see a big domestic fight with Murray

Fingers crossed mate and I think that's a real 50/50 fight.

I'm not convinced we'll see Barker vs Murray, with Gary Shaw now involved, a possible Geale rematch and Murray's manager being a ******.

The two genuinely like each other too as far as I can see, not like with Macklin where there's a bit of needle with both. Lee isn't really a rival of any of them unfortunately, he's been poorly managed throughout his career.

I'm not sure Murray deserves to be rated as best British/Irish middle, which seems to be the prevailing view at the moment.
He has been very 'lucky' in the timing and results of his big fights.
He had big size and injury advantages over Nick Blackwell and Sergio.
Also, comparing his performance against Sturm with Macklins performance against the same opponent, at roughly the same time in Sturms career, Macklin did a lot better.

Murray is, of course a good strong basic boxer, no doubt.

But Im just not as sold on Murray as most...think there has been a rush to promote him over the other local middles that has not been properly thought through by people.....

Agree Lee not a rival to the others, but it's got nothing to do with his management.
Lee is not a rival to the others simply because he is just not at their level....

I agree with you to a point about Murray, he is very basic (not necessarily a bad thing) and steals rounds.

As for Lee, I think he's good enough to compete with the others, it's bloody ridiculous that none of them have fought yet.

    Absolutely ridiculous.

comparing what two different fighters did against the same opponent is understandable but also not really a guide to their ability..some boxers just do well against a certain opponent ....

The smaller guys are much earlier in their careers so are more intriguing

That said I'm not sold on Galahad or dickens so it may not be a 4 way rivalry anyway

If the middles don't get a wriggle on it will never count as a rivalry anyway they will all be past their best

50/50 vote :) I think Dickens was a little unfit for the last few rounds and less experienced but he can come again. Galahad had nice patience to see a classy finish. Will be exciting to watch him against Quigg and Frampton.
