None of the alphabet belts have any real credibility. Their ratings are just ridiculous and they force pointless mandatories on their title-holders. Everything they do seems to be dictated by money. Even now the WBC are making moves to give Julio Cesar Chavez Jr their middleweight belt. There's no way he could beat Sergio Martinez, so Martinez gets stripped. What are the odds of Chavez fighting a no-hoper for the vacant belt some time soon? I'd recommdend reading a book called "Boxing Confidential" by Jim Brady. It's an eye opener.
The Ring belt is by far the most credible but in recent years it has lost a lot of it's credibility IMO.
LOL trying to show off his bicep....while also showing his uppercut and running on the spot? The things the old school fighers had to do....lol
I like The Ring the best because they are usually good rankings and the no bull**** policy. They don't care if the championship is vacant. IBF would probably be next. No fuss no muss on the alphabet bets, plus they offer some regional and international titles which I think are important but need to be few and meaningful. WBO good champions, not out of control with regional/intercontinental belts. WBC Completely out of control with their alphabet belts. WBA are out in left field. Shittiest champions. One hot mess of an organization. What I'd do if I had the money is: 1. Buy The Ring and WBA/WBO/IBF. 2. Combine the belts all into the WBA but use The Ring rules to determine champions. 3. 1 defense every year or stripped. 4. Work with National programs to incorporate National titles 5. Yearly Regional Tournament where the Regional champs would face off and determine the mandatory. 6. Portion of all sanctioned bout purses would be donated to found and sponsor Boxers Retirement Service
