Which scalp was more impressive? - Froch's Bute, or Ward's Dawson

Yeah, I saw a comment from Bellew that a member of his team had actually seen the video. I trust Bellew too and he's not the type of lad to lie about things like that.

I read a bit of criticism towards Dawson for quitting but in my eyes, he deserves respect for even making the weight and going ahead with the fight. He must have felt weak for a long time before the fight and yet he went ahead with it. That shows a lot of desire, so even though he lost and "quit", he went up in my estimation of him. Plenty of other fighters would have pulled out when they were being beaten up by lesser fighters in sparring, so Dawson deserves credit for turning up against Ward.

Had Ward beaten Dawson at 175lbs, I think that would have been on par with what Froch did to Bute. Had he beaten Dawson in the same fashion at 175 as he did at 168, that would have been the better win, in my opinion. The only thing which hurts Ward's win is that I don't think Dawson was a fit, strong 168lb fighter.

Bute and it's not close. My god the first shots Bute and Froch would land and Dawson would have K him TFO at 168. Dawson had already been thrashed by Froch's son Pascal anyways, and was way out of his best weight.

Damn good question. An unproven fighter at his natural weight, or a proven fighter coming back to a lower weight.

In this case, I will take Dawson, narrowly. Dawson has at least proven himself at both 168 and 175 whereas Bute has yet to prove himself anywhere; one could rightfully argue he had already lost to Andrade.

Froch beating Bute, because he wasn't expected to win.

Bute battered Miranda whereas Ward was made to go the distance. Bute didnt need to cling on for dear life against Bika either.

Although the weight could have and probably did have something to do with the Dawson loss, I just didn't rate Bute because I felt he was untested and would crumble on the first real test.. It was a great win and a great performance, but one I expected. I never imagined Ward doing Dawson like he did, weight drained or not. Both good, but Ward edges it out for me. Props to all 4 men for taking the fights.
