If you don't want to be owned don't enter my threads. Maybe you should try a nice moist vagina or a lubricated anus for the first time then you wouldn't be so offended by GGG's Eastern European heritage.

The main reason Lara is fighting this level of opposition is that no top dog wants to pick him volunteerely and Lara refuses to do the work to become mandatory. He is all loss, no profit type of an opponent - very hard to beat and very hard to look good against in victory or defeat, and no finances due to the lack of a fan base. He doesn't look to be struggling to make weight at 154 so he really should stay there. Once the giant Charlos move up, he will be able to pick up the rest of the belts and possibly work on building his own brand.

Good call. I agree with you that Lara should move up to 160 and formally challenge Golovkin :)

Until he gets a big fight, Lara will take the easy Golovkin route to pad his record with easy KO wins, and why not?
Golovkin has made it acceptable for boxers to take the path of least resistance to build career statistics using low grade materials. So, it's only fair that other boxers would embrace this low bar of performance for, what's good for the goose is good for the gander. I.E., What is good for one type is equally good for another type.

This is true to a large extent... Most of this applies to GGG as well, but a lot of the detractors would be more than OK with accepting this for Lara and not GGG.

GGG is in a different position. He has a fan base and if I am not mistaken, he is the third highest earning boxer in 2016. He has the HBO machine behind him too because of his exciting style. The main reason why GGG has taken so long to become a star is the manner in which he wins his fights. Each knockout loss takes years off your career and people do not wish to be put in the position of ending their career prematurily for what they believe is small money. Mayweather showed every prize fighter out there that you do not need to take risks to make money in this business, you just need to talk a lot of trash and make wild claims. To an extent, GGG himself does the same thing - he doesn't move up to 168 because he knows that it will amout to taking big hits from really heavy guys, something that he would prefer not to do to prolong his career.

Mirrors Lara in the sense that the big names at 160 have avoided him like the plague is what I mean. Obviously has a bigger fan base, and a more appealing style. But that fact he's been avoided by the top dogs in his division has definitely hurt his stock and drawing ability. A dominant win over Canelo would probably be enough to make him a super star. After that taking risks makes more sense. But yeah, you're right in that he probably doesn't want to risk things at 168 just yet.

Makes sense to me but only Jamall Charlo needs to move up. Jamell Charlo is cool for 154.

Would have actually preferred Margarito to Foreman last night for what it's worth. At least he would have brought the heat and given it go.

Agree with most but not all of your post.

Golovkin has entertained fighting Froch, Ward, Chavez Jr at 168. So clearly he will do it if the money is right.

But: he's so far ahead of the other 160 guys that he has a great chance at beating Bhop's record and unifying. Not only would he go into the record books but he'd make a pile of dosh at less risk doing it. If he went up to 168 permanently, not only would he be a very small 168er, but he'd have to start chasing belts and records anew. At his age, I don't think it's an option.

The thing is Foreman is not the best fighter that is willing to fight him and far from it. So he shouldn't be given a pass.
