Which single fight completely changed your perception of a fighter?

Mayweather v Judah. One of the only other fighters I've seen adapt like that in the middle of a fight is Leonard against Hearns.

 

After Oscar put Vargas on his ass I was like "Whoa". Dude was forreal.

Maidana vs Ortiz

Maidana got up off the canvas 3 times in a six round fight to defeat Victor and made him quit. Showed me he was a real warrior and that Ortiz is weak

 

Pascal vs. Dawson

I know people questioned Dawson before, but I always just figured he was just cruising through fights he was inevitably going to win. Dawson had a chance to really turn the switch on when he was down big on the cards to Pascal....but it never really happened. I mean, he started making progress late in the fight but its not like he ratcheted the intensity or urgency to the level that it should have been. That was very disappointing.

Kotelnik vs Alexander

As anyone on this forum will tell you my forsight and bozing knowledge is legendary. But even I can be blinded to a fighters faults based on bias

Carl Froch basically every fight since Dirrell

Thought he was slow, ugly with overrated power. Now i see him as unorhodox, cagey, decent ranged fighter. Still ugly

 

Tree vs. Berto; I thought Tree was no longer a Tree. Boy was I wrong.

Pac vs. Bradley; I didn't dislike Bradley before the fight, he's a good fighter, but his trolling after a fight he clearly lost was nauseating to watch. Made me lose respect for him as a human being and dislike him.

Maidana vs. Soto-Karass: After seeing him look terrible against Alexander in his first fight at 147, I didn't think Maidana had any business at 147. He looked much more polished in terms of skills and more comfortable at the weight against Soto-Karass. I now think he could accomplish a bit at 147. He'd easily beat the likes of Guerrero and Paulie, and would be a live underdog vs. the likes of Berto and Bradley as well.

 

I like Pavlik-Miranda, Delahoya-Vargas, and definitely Wladimir Klitschko-Sam Peter I. Big honorable mention to Tyson-Desire Washington. That wasnt good.

 

Morales vs pac 1...round 12 shows Morales really cares about the fans

 

Also Pac vs Bradley. I couldnt understand the score card they were giving on HBO. I couldnt understand the commentary, either. I honestly thought most of the rounds were extremely close, with Bradley winning his fair share of them. When the desicion was announced, I was relieved to hear proof that I wasn't bat **** crazy. It made me change my opinion on the power of persuasion, HBO commentators, Harold Lederman, and the boxing public and most reporters. It was absolutely nuts what they did to Bradley on what should have been the night of his life. Also made me respect Tim's fighting spirit and ability a lot more, as well as Pac's sportsmanship. At least while he was still in the ring anyway.

 

Cosign. I was a Tim fan before. I can't stand him now.
