Since his own time, Ali and Tyson would pose the biggest threats, perhaps followed by Liston.

Fighters before his time are more of an unknown quantity, but I think that people were rigth to measure him against Johnson and Dempsey while he was active.

 

I like it but I'd swap Lewis for Tunney.

All top level boxers with good jabs and superior foot speed. The type that gave Louis trouble and most of the picks were bigger men. Unlike Walcott and Conn, they also had top chins to minizine Louis puncher's chance.

I might pick someone else besides Holyfield if I think about it. Marciano ( who Louis said would beat him ) Jeffries, Lewis, and Dempsey would be other choices.

Wlad, Liston, Tyson, Liston and Foreman not out of the question either.

Foreman I think is absolutely a target for Louis - surprised so many going for him? I think Louis would do a number on Foreman - a la Max Baer

Funnily enough I keep thinking about Billy Conn - but there really isn't an equivalent of Conn at heavyweight?? Sometimes I think some light heavyweights can pose a different set of challenges for heavyweights and can rattle a few cages.

Marciano only because of the crouching swarmer thing - but who knows? Louis could take anyone out with one punch to be fair if he got them right?

Frazier maybe? But not sure his Chin was as good as some people suggest seen him rattled by a few who couldn't punch anywhere near the level of Louis and Louis had fast hands too Frazier might be a bit of a sitting duck.

Jack Johnson I think would pose him problems infact I'd go as far to say Johnson has as good a chance as any

And Ali is Ali so I guess he has a shot against anyone to be fair
