Any black boxer is slick now? Apparently holt is slick.

Whoever says that slick boxing equals black fighters must be shot to pieces. There are very good slick blackfighters but there are equally nonblack fighters who are slick.

The term slick probably applies to black fighters as this term is a ghetto slang but if it means technical fighters then it is not exclusively a black thing. However to me slick simply means a fighter who runs to avoid punches and then potshots to win round. !lol!

Back in September of 1999 Manny Pacquiao had a bantamweight title and decided to fight Medgoen Singsurat (in thailand i belive) who at the time had no belt but was 18-0.
He could have chose to fight Tim Austin who at the time was 19-0(18ko) with one draw which he avenged by UD, he was also the IBF Bantamweight Champion at the time. However Pacquiao decided to fight another oriental fighter closer to his home and was knocked out by Singsurat with a body shot.

Flash forward to June in 2008.

Manny Pacquiao decided to fight WBC Lightweight Champion Juan Diaz, instead of fighting Nate Campbell who was just off his career best win over Juan Diaz. At the time Nate Campbell had the IBF and WBO Lightweight belts as well as the WBA Super World Lightweight Title.

I'm not saying he ducked either one of these guys but it is questionable.

How many black fighters in history are slick really?

I have been watching boxing since the 70's and it is not like one- tenth of black fighters are slick.

Most of those who people claim are slick fights like rigondeaux, boring.

In the last decade how many are slick black fighters relative to the actual black fighters are there? I bet that you can not even name 10 in something like hundreds of black fighters.

Just go and pretend that casa and Guzman are African American fighters because that is what you *****s are so good about - boxing knowledge.

 

In the lower weight classes the best fighters were latinos! At 147 there are plenty of slicksters pac could fight.... Shane, berto, Maybe even bradley (144 catch weight), floyd!! He needs to fight them, not JMM at 147!! Freddie roach is a *****, he wants JMM at 147! I call bull ****!

What constitute a slick fighter again? Or how do we define one because it is an implied definition where we assume everybody knows yet no one can give an exact definition. We say gayweather or srl are slick but they don't fight exactly the same.

Can we say that technical fighters are slick like penalosa or jmm?

This reminds me of the term FLOORED where I presumed everybody has the same meaning to the term only to find out that michigay actually has a different meaning from the rest of the 5 billion people in the world.

So for once, we should define what is slick style! I don't believe that Kendall holt is slick yet some are saying he is. Bradley might technically be adept but is he slick? It seems that slick fighters are fighters who seldom get hit from what is being implied in most threads therefore Campbell should not be a slick fighter.
