Only guy that can help AJ to beat Usyk is Papachenko.

Maybe Luis Ortiz and Otto Wallin. They are at least skilled southpaws; it just seems like there aren’t many high level southpaws at heavyweight.

People don't understand that a new coach isn't solving the problem with AJ. AJ lacks a fundamental skillset. He never developed that. He was always more athlete than boxer. And more power & size than skills. And changing that at his age is almost impossible.

Otto Wallin is a good shout. Australian Cruiser Jai Opetaia could be used.

Richard Torrez, the Olympic silver medalist at Super Heavy. The Kazakh bronze medalist as well - Kunkabayev. They could definitely get him & should.

Guys like Ortiz or Jalolov are good southpaws but they're too big & upright. They're not the right style fit.

You want blokes who are southpaws, similar build to Usyk, with decent skills & mobility.

Advisor wise, Carl Froch and Andre Ward. Both almost always seem to be spot on in their assessments and I think AJ would benefit having one in one ear and one in the other.

It doesn't even matter and Usyk can adapt and give him something different from what he expects. Or maybe they can bribe Lomachenko to come in and try to time his in & out. There is some strange training video of AJ in the ring with what it looks like 2 hobbits trying to corner him at the same time but moving and punching in slow motion. That sure helped him against Usyk, lol.

I mentioned him in another thread, he needs more than someone who can tell him what went wrong he needs someone who is able to add something to a guy 2/3s of the way through his career in one camp to overcome a wide deficit.

They'll be able to add one or two new things and make a gameplan out of what he has, it's a very special trainer that's required.

Plus there will be some upheaval and hurt feelings from bringing someone in so it needs to be worth it.

I dont see how any adviser helps AJ at this stage of his career. He has never shown the ability or willingness to adapt, partly because his upright plodding forward style has been so effective against B level opponents. He didn't really change for the Andy Ruiz rematch, Ruiz just came in fat and out of shape and AJ executed the same game plan as the first fight pretty much

AJ would benefit hugely from a couple of years at the Kronk Gym, like Fury has. Im just not sure he is committed enough to boxing to make that kind of effort and sacrifice. He earned too much money too early in his career to still be properly hungry

OP what do you think AJ needs to change to beat Usyk? His only advantages are power and size. Power is no advantage at all if he cant land the bombs and he completely failed to use his size advantage. He should be using that weight and size to position bully and exhaust his opponents but he doesn't have the mental tools to do it. Usyk is smarter, faster, slicker, more skilled, better at range and better in the clinches. He also has a much wider range of tools available to him in any particular situation

Well AJ was sparring the likes of Wadi Camacho for Usyk. Look, Maybe AJ or McCracken are dyslexic and thought "Wadi" was actually "Wlad".

Either way, that's ridiculous, Wadi Camacho isn't preparing you for Usyk, but maybe they didn't want to risk bringing in top quality operators just in case AJs chin didn't hold up or he took a slap and it rattled his confidence.

We have heard many tales (and sure they are just tales) of AJ getting served up in sparring, so I wouldn't be surprised if they "avoided" sparring top quality men.

But they have to up the levels in sparring if they are to stand a chance in the rematch.

As for who? I have no idea, I don't know who you get to be a sparring partner to replicate Usyk, maybe look at young amateur cruiserweights and Heavyweights who are quick, hungry and wouldn't mind getting some experience in a big camp.

And then add to that with some big experienced pros who can deal with the hard spars, again as for who? I just don't know who would be willing to do it..

    Andy Ruiz for obvious reasons.
