That's shocking, but to be fair it was to face stiverne not wilder.

yes, that's why I don't know why this was actually mentioned. Wilder is no Don King fighter.
On the other hand, Haymon seems to be cut from the same cloth.

Fighting the actual version of Ruslan Chagaev would be a disgrace of epic proportions.

But they already made clear they want no part of any live boxer, so it will be a shot as **** journeyman or gatekeeper.

And no, not Chisora. Chisora hits too hard, and has too good of a chin. Wilder already ducked Chisora claiming visa issues while two weeks later was in england getting rocked by The Toe.

Szpilkas win over Adamek definitely makes him eligible. As does Tarver's over Banks.

I see nothing wrong with either as a first VOLUNTARY defense.

Both would be about equal to Wladimirs proposed defense against Briggs in September.:rofl

Looks like some people still cant take the fact that wilder proved he is the real deal

Just admit you were wrong about him otherwise you have years of misery ahead of you when wilder dominates this division.

Nothing about that fight showed he was "the real deal" he took a belt from a guy who was very beatable and could have easily been dethroned by 10+ other heavyweights, even the people who don't have an agenda weren't all that impressed with Wilder, it's only the fanboys who claim it was a "great" performance.

A unification bout with a current a former 3X world titlist with a great resume.

I wish Ruslan had been more active since winning the vacant title, but his potential fights with Ortiz/Koyode have gone down the drain.

So, with an opportunity to fight Wilder and unite two paper titles, this is actually a solid fight, with the winner being the perfect fight for FULL 100% no questions asked unification with Wladimir Klitschko.:think

I STILL don't LIKE Wilder.......but as a contender/titlist, he has EARNED my respect for showing the poise he showed in beating Stiverne.

Now, his nutthuggers, will say his chin was tested, his heart was tested etc etc etc. But if you watch the fight from a subjective perspective, you'd easily notice that Stiverne NEVER actually connected properly on Wilder, and when he did connect at all, it was one and done and Wilder would get himself out of harms way.

But as for an overall performance, I would give Wilder, MORE CREDIT, than I give to Fury for how he beat DelBoy2. And Im a FAN of Fury's.

But Wilder's dominant win over Stiverne< Fury's dominant stoppage of DelBoy. Both great wins, but we'd seen Fury show poise and patience before. We'd never actually seen Wilder show anything resembling ring intelligence. :good:good

Before the Stiverne fight I would put Fury as a 3/1 favorite over Wilder, and Wladimir as at least a 4/1 favorite.

Now, :think I'd say Wladimir is no more than a 2/1 favorite, and I would make Fury vs Wilder about even. 60/40 either way.:think:think:think

People like you considered Chagaev a nobody even in his prime. Now that he's shot and ready to embellish Wildest's fabricated resume, he's "a titlist" and a "gret resume"?

No, it would be a pathetic beating of a dead horse. And completely inexcusable.

Wilder is 30 years old, and after 6 years as a pro and over 30 fights he has yet to fight anybody over 6'2 or alive.

Ducking 10 millions for the Povetkin fight, only to dig Chagaev's grave for peanuts.

I've never considered Chagaev a NOBODY.

Not ever. The guy gave Valuev fits, and many thought he'd beat able to take Wladimir/Vitali the distance and find a way to win. Not that many, but more than a few.

Also......I like Potvetkin. He fought a shiit fight vs Wladimir, diving in L hook or OH R only to be parried and grabbed, but he's rebounded well. And to date....his BEST win is IMO, his CLOSE victory over the CURRENT WBA paper titlist.

This is a good fight. And the winner would be MANDATED to fight Potvetkin UNLESS they chose full UNIFICATION with Wladimir.

Everybody wins. And as a fight fan......that's what I want to see.:huh:huh:huh

He's definitely a little better than I gave him credit for, but I wasn't all that impressed, especially considering how slow and lethargic Stiverne looked on the night(even more than usual)

Like you said, Wilder didn't even catch that many punches flush from Stiverne and he was still hurt a couple of times, in no way did that fight prove he has solid punch resistance.

I guess I give him some credit for his poise, and ring generalship but it's nothing to write home about, but he did perform in a way that I said was impossible for him to, so there's that...

As for say that>>>>>>> Furys performance over Chisora, I disagree... Fury not only completely schooled, and toyed with Chisora, but he did it almost entirely out of the Southpaw stance! I think that was much more impressive considering how he did, and how dominant it was... Stiverne definitely lost a very onesided fight, but he still had his moments...

I'd still favor Wlad heavily over Wilder, if the fight were 2-1 i'd put quite a bit of money on Wlad knocking him out early let's just say that.

The division is too hot for Wilder to fight a line of scrubs. He's lying about wanting to fight Fury because Frank said all he has to do is pick up the phone and he'll be surprised how easy he can get Fury in the ring.

He'll have to fight the winner of Povetkin - Perez . If he beats that victor he's the real deal for me.
