Which stoppage loss was more damaging: Dubois TKO11 Wardley or Hrgovic TKO9 Itauma

Itauma took way less damage, but Wardley seems to be fine mentally (since he ain't scared of immediate rematch after brutal beating). Whereas it is unsure if Itauma's confidence won't break after that loss.

 

Hard to tell until either of them fight again.

First thought is Wardley had it worse because he took more sustained punishment.

But Itauma took a lot of shots while exhausted and sometimes that can cause more damage.

Also psychologically I think Itauma will have a harder road back because everyone was jerking him off so much in the buildup.

 

Wardley for sure. Itauma didn't take much physical damage against Hrgovic but Wardley on the other hand received a horrific beating. Maybe it's just me but his speech during the Itauma broadcast sounded a tad bit declined and a little bit more slurred. I hope I'm wrong but a fight like that would've been extremely damaging and he might not have come away from it unscathed in the long run.

 

Different types of damage and both can be lasting.

Physically Wardley. Mentally Itauma.

 

Wardley took a serious beating for 7 straight rounds.
Itauma took little real damage

 

Wardley took one of the worst beatings I have ever seen in my time watching boxing.

 

I'd be surprised if Wardley came back from that, that was pure unadulterated brain damage. Itauma has 7 years to make a comeback and Hrgovic doesn't hit nearly as hard as Dubois

by making the hrgovic/itauma fight into a title fight, by giving sanchez step aside money, and the fight not going itauma or queensberry's way.
it has sent the boxing world into meltdown, from fighters, promoters and fans talking about it..

i've been a forum member since 2012,i'm on here every day and have hardly ever posted up until this fight, and since posting my comments and 2 cents worth, i've been licking my chops on this fight ever since

 

Wardley's brain must've been rattling around like the contents of a nutribullet.

He'll return vs DD and he'll get KOd early. Goodnight Vienna.

If Itauma wasn't winging shots for 9 rounds and had a bit more experience he would've won. Way more to be positive about going forward for him than there is about Wardley.

Wardley, come on. Shake him and you will hear rattling sounds from inside his head. He got pounded.

 

They’re very different imo.

Moses has seen a glaring weakness in is stamina and his recklessness to hunt for the KO too much. He can feasibly regroup, get a better trainer possibly one in America who could refine his slick style, and work on stamina and pacing issues.

Wardley ate some huge shots after knocking Dubois down early and honestly for a guy who started extremely late as a white collar boxer he’s achieved more than most could dream. There’s very little reason to continue getting brain injuries now that he’s rich and famous and realistically reached his level in the sport.
