Conversely, which strategy would you advise Klitschko to employ to maximise his chances of beating Haye and minimise his chances of losing to Haye, if you were his trainer?

Wlad - jab, clinch, jab clinch.

Haye - feel Wlad out for a round, then start timing counter punches over his jab, once you land, get all over him and Wlad will get flustered.

To Wlad: occupy center of ring, push Haye back if he gets close, set off his offense by timing his assaults with jabs and left hooks. In case a good left hook gets in and Haye is wobbled, fire the right hand and take him out. If Haye wants to play counterpuncher, use long jab followed with a small back step or side step, repeat over and over to make Haye come to you.

To Haye: throw combinations, not one punch at a time as usual. Don't wait on the outside too long, always start first. Don't jab with him. Throw a hook to the body and then follow up upstairs. Don't wrestle in clinches. Start your combinations with different punches, keep him wondering. Don't stay on the inside for too long either. It should be in and out all the time. If he's hurt and tries to tie you up, wrestle like a mad man to get your arms free, don't wait for the ref.

Mainly to start fast, always combos and get out but always push the action.Basically inteligent bullrushing.
Wlad always has problems when people do this against him freezes up and we all know his chin ain't iron either.

    For Haye:
Haye has to neutralize Wlad's jab. I would tell Haye to punch Wlad in the left shoulder and circle to the right. This will disrupt Wlad's jab, AND more importantly, it will keep Haye away from Wlad's right hand. Then, Haye can come over the top with a right hand of his, or a nice right to Wlad's ribs. Follow with a left hook. This will also keep Wlad turning. Wlad does not punch on the move, so that is a good thing.

When Wlad clinches, make him regret it... Hang on his neck, Trip him, free your hands, punch him anywhere, on the sides, on the hips. Just fall down. Make him lift that 240lbs back up off the ground. Do not let the big man lean and tire you out.

    For Klistchko:
Wlad has to wear the smaller man down, and keep him at bay. Just do what he normally does. Use the jab. When he gets to close, use the grab. If Wlad learns to throw an uppercut in during the cinch, all the better.

The longer it goes the smaller the chances of Haye winning get, start fast and try and take Wlad out as early as possible.Haye has neither the chin or even the stamina to go the distance, the only chance he has got is to finish the fight quickly. Wlad on the otherhand can win over the distance or wack David out early,I would tell him to establish a hard snapping jab early and slot the right hand home at the earliest oppurtunity. It will only take one righthand with any kind of venom on it to end the fight. If Haye has got under Wlads skin then I think he wil blast Haye out in short order.Ive only seen Wlad look as if he really wanted to hurt a fighter once, and he did and he did it early and with nasty intent.

Haye gotta win by knockout... not just because of him predicting a KO and trash talking alot, but also because he's on foreign teritory and the challenger, and i just don't see Haye winning in a clear one-sided way and get the decision. So basicaly he needs to get in with his power shots and try to disrupt Wlads rythm. With that said he got to be careful himself, because if he forgets his defense and takes some hard shots he'll hit the canvas.

For Haye - Double up his jab on his way in, jab to the body, jab to the head and finish with a big hook to leave him outa position so that you can get off. Feint to the head, jab to the body. Feint, give a lot of angles, make him think something's coming that's not coming, step back and shoot it off and let it go. Breathing and resting comes courtesy of his clinches.

For Klitschko - Keep him at a distance and play one-twos all night long, move a bit to the side to make him go head first and stick him inside with a hook like a matador on the rushing bull, tie him up and put your weight on him each time and again. BE FIRST, Press him in the center of the ring and go steamrolling him all the way to the ropes and outa there with straight, sharp and powerful punches, left-right-left-right and it's your fight cause he can't counterpunch to that.

I would have Haye use the tactic of being very busy and to jab and jab and try to land that right hand often as much as he can without being reckless. He better get Vlad out of there early because once the fight gets into a slower mode it is all Vlad and his jab.

I've said this before and some have called crazy others a genius.

Have shouldn't try to get under the jab as so many other fighters have tried and failed.
Instead he circle away from it toward the right hand but closing the distance. Haye has the speed to do this, If he gets hit the right won't have full power behind it and he can work the body. Unsettle Wlad early. If he doesn't close the distance he has the qiuck head movement to neutralise the power of the punch.

Haye will able to land at will in and out if he force Wlad to lead with the right.

    Haye k06.

My advise to Wlad, bulldozer him. Go after from the opening the bell he won't be expecting it.
