If only he had beaten all those fighters on his resume. Then he would not only have a good resume but would have proven himself to be an unbelievable skilled fighter, similar to Calzaghe. Resumes do not support a case of arguing a fighter better than another when the other fighter is undefeated.
Logically what definitive proof can there be Mosley is superior to Joe Calzaghe based on an argument around 44-4 vs 43-0. You can suggest a possibility of such potenitally exists (even that is far fetched, this is Joe Calzaghe). But you cannot come out with a definitive statement. It is totally irrational and typical of an American Media influenced boxing fan.
shane mosley has..... vernon forrest oscar de la hoya winky wright fernando vargas Miguel cotto (soon) compare that to calzaghe's
****ing sure we can. Sure the English media actually believed that England could win the Rugby world cup...............now that's ****ing irrational
Which part of that gives us a clear indication that Mosley is superior to Calzaghe? What part of Calzaghe's L-0 indicates this? No part. I advice all Americans to find something more substansial than this silly resume rubbish if they wish to rubbish the great Joe Calzaghe. If Calzaghe had ever lost to any of his world class opposition, they would have a case. But for all we know, based on his resume alone Joe Calzaghe's ability might well be limitless. If you wish to argue against his brilliance based on technical arguments, you will also fall flat.
I guess Sven Ottke's better than Nigel Benn because he has no losses as well, but the reason the 0 is there is because he never fought anyone good.
As I said on resume alone you cannot argue anything definitive. You accidently agreed with me 100%. Ottkes ability based on resume could potentially be limitless. But factor in video of him and knowledge of robberies and it becomes clear Benn was a little superior. Calzaghe vs Mosley, resumes give us nothing. Then we watch video, see Calzaghe is invincible and we all agree Calzaghe is the superior fighter.
If I did agree with you thats fine, I just feel that the 0 doesnt matter unless you beat good fighters keep that 0. Take Valuev for instance, the guy won what like 46 matches in a row, the best fighter he beat in doing so was John Ruiz. All Im saying if your the supposed best you should fight the best, if Calzaghe wins this will be his greatest victory IMO.
And the reverse is true. The fact Calzaghe hasn't beaten a Sugar Ray Robinson doesn't indicate to us Calzaghe is limited. It raises a questionmark, but nothing more. Therefore relentless saying something about Mosley's resume indicating he is better than Calzaghe is foolish. Infact Mosleys shut-out loss to Wright indicates Mosley is likely inferior to Joe. Based on resumes alone, your best educated guess can only lead to you seeing Calzaghe as the better fighter.
