    Peter Buckley

Has been in with at least ten world champions, and was the first man to go the distance with Naseem Hamed

De La Hoya stands out, Pac isn't a million miles away, nor are Shane Mosley and Floyd Mayweather.

How is Calzaghe on that list? Kessler, Hop, and an overhyped Lacy?

How can anyone possibly put Klitschko in the top 10? He's not even in the top 20.

Klitschko ahead of Hopkins???? Are you ****ing shitting me???

Where Klit may get in is because he always fights the best guys available. Now, that is where it gets confusing, because the guys available are shite. Certainly weaker than the guys that Hopkins, DLH, Cotto, Pacquiao have.

They could duck half of the leading names and still have a stronger list of potential foes.

Since I'm busy talking **** about everyone else's list, my list (based solely on resume, not H2H) is:

    1) Oscar
    2) Hopkins
    (Floyd would go here)
    3) Jones Jr.
    4) Holyfield
    5) Pacquiao
    6) Barrera
    7) Mosley
    8) Toney
    9) Casamayor
    10) Cotto

    Off the list:

Wright - best wins are over guys way smaller than he was (Mosley and Tito), and honestly doesn't have that many other good wins.
Taylor - close to the list; what Hopkins has done after Taylor makes those wins look much better
Klitschko - Only quality wins were over a guy who wasn't even top-10 at the time and a blown-up light heavyweight. Oh, and FWIW, John Ruiz is still active and actually has a better resume than Klit.
Calzaghe - Good wins just too far between for that long of a career, and none of his wins that were impressive at the time look that impressive in retrospect (except Kessler has yet to prove himself either way)
    J. Marquez - Best wins were actually a draw and two close losses
    R. Marquez - Didn't quite clear out 118 enough
    J. Guzman - close to the list having beaten a lot of dangerous fighters, but has never gotten the opportunity to fight the best
JL Castillo - Not quite there
    Hatton - ditto
Mijares - not even close. Juan Diaz has a better resume, and nobody's going to mention him.

As an explanation for Cotto - many of his wins that didn't look good at the time look MUCH better now.

Let me know if I'm missing anyone obvious. I'm ignoring the really old guys who have come back for a fight or two or who aren't really active anymore, so not counting Nelson, Quartey, Tapia, Hill, Maske, Morales, Trinidad, etc.

I HAVE TO DISAGREE WITH YOU... THE NAME IN YOUR POST SHOULD DEFINITELY BE FELIX "TITO" TRINIDAD. DLH JUST FOLLOWED TRINI AFTER HIS LOSS TO HIM... CONSTANTLY FIGHTING THE SAME FIGHTERS AFTER TRINI... WHAT A SHAME FOR AN OTHERWISE VERY GOOD BOXER!!

WTF? JMM at #5? BEST resume? Even ahead of Barrera?!

Take out his win against MAB and what do you have?!

Just to show you are just a fan but does not understand boxing!

This is my ten. I haven't put too much thought into the order, would take too long to go through each resume and evaluate thoroughly, but they are in a rough sort of order. I have guys in here who have lost some high-profile fights ahead of guys with weaker resumes but undefeated records (eg Calzaghe, John, Guzman) because in my opinion, it means much more to take the big, dangerous fights than to not do so and protect the 'O'! But feel free to disagree...
