Which of the champions would you give the most realistic chance of beating prime Ali? I'll go: Lewis Louis Holmes Johnson,Dempsey are my subs. Suggestions?
Obviously Frazier. Due to picking Frazier I then have to stay in that thought process and go for Rocky and Dempsey.
Wlad, Lewis and Bowe in that order. If I had to add a fourth I'd add Tyson. I'd make prime Ali a quite comfortable favorite against anyone pre Tyson. Of those I'd give Holmes the best chance.
Prime Holmes, I can see the Holmes Jab giving Ali problems, Lewis his size, plus he also used a good jab, prime Tyson, esp early, Ali was dropped by a left hook early in his career by H.Cooper, Tyson may have been able to stop him if he landed the same shot, esp since Tyson was a good finisher. Though they in my opinion would have the best chances to beat a prime Ali don't see them actually doing it, foot speed would be the difference with Holmes and Lewis, and the mind games would be the difference with Tyson, Ali would get inside Tysons head. Just like Liston, make him beat himself.
Ali listed Charles, Walcott and Marciano as former champs who would give him problems. He probably knows better than I do.
