Didn't the Collazo fight prove Ricky can't fight at welter?

He fought like ****, against a very mediocre opponent

Don't see what the point of this is

I just don't think you can rank someone in P4P status if they can't move up in weight and be even remotely effective. Especially when the fighter is natural 40 lbs heavier than what he fights at as it is. If you can’t transcend weight classes, then you are not a P4P ranked fighter.

p4p has nothing to do with ability to move up in weight. it is attributes at the fighters best projected regardless of weightclass.

Right, and as far as I'm concered, the best way to prove your P4P status, is to prove that your abilty is not limited to your natural division.

Surprised that Winky was not mentioned. He looked totally "not himself" at the higher weight against Hopkins.

Arturo Gatti was another one who just could not hold the extra 7 pounds from Junior welterweight to welterwieght. You can argue whether he really was just a "C" fighter per PBF, but he definitely looked more comfortable at 140.

I hope that Juan Diaz does not go much above his weight. Lack of power could hurt him.

As good as everyone thinks he is, I think Pac man will struggle at a higher weight.

Fighters like Paul Williams and Forrest could go as high as middle weight and be successful. Margorito could jump to Junior Middleweight/Middleweight.

Some guys have the style or the genetics to go through the weights, others stay at one division.

I think to be a multi weight world champ, you must be some kind of defensive genius or super slick. Super Aggressive guys would find it more difficult, anyone who relies on strength and power could find themselves coming unstuck.

winky looked terrible against hopkins. all that stuff about hopkins "figuring out" winky is crap, winky couldn't fight at that weight, and that's why he lost.
