Bowe Holyfield 1 was the best actual fight.

Ali Frazier 1 the most dramatic.

Ali Frazier 3 , IMO, the most over rated.

I love both 1 st fight s ,would give the edge to Bowe v Holy 1.
The second fight s ,it's Bowe /Holy again ,in fact I find Ali v Frazier 2 slightly dull in part's .
For the rubber match its The thrilla but as he grant mentioned I to find it over rated slightly .

I'd go Ali vs Frazier one. Bowe vs Holyfield 1 at # 2, The Thrilla at 3, Bowe vs Holyfield 2 at 4. Bowe vs Holyfield 3 at 5 Ali vs Frazier 3, at 6. Ali vs Frazier one is not only a great fight . But look at all the storylines that lead up to it. The blue collar guy vs the flashy mouthy guy. White America favored Frazier, most Blacks favored Ali. ( but not in the south) The Black Muslims story line, The Vietnam war story line. Both fighters undeafeated, and looked great prior to the fight. The skill level for both fighters were beyond exceptional for what they did best . The WORLD was captivated by Ali vs Frazier one. World wasnt captivated by Bowe vs Holyfield one though it was an exceptional fight. No fight in history competes with Ali vs Frazier #1 other than possibly Louis vs Schmeling #2. As far as world wide appeal. And the Louis vs Schmeling fight wasnt a fight at all. So Ali vs Frazier one #1 , 1st, and Bowe vs Holyfield #1 a distant 2nd.

Judging by the fights themselves, no other factors...

    1. Ali v Frazier 1
    2. Bowe - Holyfield 1
    3. Thrilla
    4. B-H 2
    5. B-H 3
    6. A-F 2

    Taking other factors,

    1. Ali vs Frazier - it was the Fight of the Century. Frank Sinatra was the photographer. old values vs new values. Blue collar integrity vs loud mouthed bragaddocio. Two brilliant unbeaten fighters. The backdrop of Vietnam and Civil Rights. Aaaaaaaaand ... it was a brilliant fight.

    2. Thrilla - edges out Bowe v Holy 1 on account of the shenanigans with Veronica Porsche and Belinda Ali, President Marcos, the heat in the arena, the performances, the courage.

    3. Bowe - Holy 1 - that tenth round.

    4. Bowe - Holy 2 - great fight, fan man, JUdy Bowe fainting. How many stories do you want from a fight?

    5. Bowe - Holy 3 - a distant fifth and only edges out Ali v Frazier 2 because of the knockdowns and Evander's capacity to look so bad and yet fight so hard.

    6. Ali - Frazier 2 - Hmmm. Probably the best bit was the TV studio scrap but the fights eitherside more than made up for it.

Overall, then, Ali-Joe shades it. But what a pair of trilogies, the likes of which are never to be seen again, I fear.
