    Hi Buddy.
Seems to me that having a certain amount of arrogance, and having your opponents intimidated by you is a prerequisite of a great fighter , would you not agree ?.
    stay safe matey.

I have been told Graziano and Zale despised each other. Can anyone confirm this?

Deontay Wilder and Tyson Fury seem to have very genuine animosity. Mostly on Wilder’s part, I think.

Mayorga had De La Hoya pretty pissed

Ali definitely didn't hate Frazier. An interesting story. My buddy and former business partner had an autographed photo of Joe Frazier above his pool table. I asked him how he got it and he said at an autograph show. He sheepishly told me, as he knows how much of an Ali fan I am, that he told Joe he was the reason Ali was the way he was (Parkinsons) and Joe said " don't say that". It's curious because at times he did take "credit" for Ali having Parkinsons. In any case Mark Kram estimated with sparring Ali fought 20,000 rounds. That might have done it.

This is a thread about mutual hate. SRL didn't hate Hagler. SRL and Duran hated one another with the emphasis on the past tense.

Agreed. A quite uniquely uncharismatic individual. His references to himself in the third person are awful.

I've mentioned here before that, in his eulogy to Manny Steward at a memorial service, his whole anecdote lead to Manny saying that 'Lennox Lewis knows how to party'. Totally self-serving and, as you say, devoid of any warmth, humour or irony.

Agree about 'The best I faced' but if you thought Lewis' was bad, dig out Sweet Pea's. Again, a strangely uncharismatic and unlikeable individual whose arrogance and vanity were off the chart.

Most of these are one-sided hate. I don’t think Leonard hated Hagler, nor do I think Ali hated Frazier.

Some of the examples are where the poster hates the boxer, lol.

I don’t know if there was two-sided hate here, and hate may be the wrong word.

Spinks said some things to or about Larry’s wife before their fight, and Holmes took that personally. In the fight, there was a false bell (second round) and Larry dropped his guard and Leon kept fighting. That raised Holmes’ hackles and he turned it up soon after.

But Larry said very good things about Leon when Spinks was in declining health and upon his death. Something like ‘You gave me a good fight. You lived life the way you wanted and it was a good life. RIP.’

If there was any animosity, it didn’t last.
