Pacman to have a tune-up fight at 147 then fight Cotto at 147

    or

Immediately fight Cotto at a catchweight of 145

Beating Cotto at 147 would be a bigger accomplishment then at 145.

He already fought at 147 before.

Cotto showed up at 146 in his last fight.

It is not as if this will be Pacquiao's first fight at 147 anyway. Why the catch-weight of 2lbs less of the WW limit?

this is how I look at Top Rank's plan

If they had made the fight at 147 and Cotto loses, Cotto's marketability is down the drain. If Pacquiao wins at 147 and he wants to retire after, they lose their two top fighters.

On the other hand, if Cotto loses at 145 they can blame it on the weight and do a rematch at 147 with the belt on the line. They can also make this fight if Floyd doesn't agree with the purse later on.

145 no belt is my pick... it gives Pac reason to keep fighting

I thought Pac took a tune up at 147 when he fought De la Hoya.

If Cotto's belt is going to be on the line - then the fight should have been at 147.

To call Pac a welterweight champion - if he wins - and then he forces everyone to fight him at a catch weight - would be crazy.

Pac doesn't need a tune up @ 147. Roach doesn't want him to fight @ that weight. ODLH was a one shot deal. Pac/Cotto @ 145 is cool w/ me.
