Vargas had health problems, he was lucky to have gotten out of boxing without serious damage.

vargas that fought tito. mentally he was still all there. his confidence was supreme as well with a career best win over quartey a couple or so fights before the tito fight. he was just never the same again after that savage beating at the hands of trinidad.

tito resorted to punching vargas in the nuts to take some zip out of him

im not saying that alone won tito the fight, but i lose a lot of respect for him. it was blatantly obvious he did it on purpose

I really don't think a fighter gets "shot" after one loss. I do think they can become despirited. Personally, I think both Vargas was great in both. I think Vargas had become more despirited over loosing to DLH because he hated him so much and he could loose to Tito no problem but loosing to DLH really took a toll on him. Vargas just had a problem with dealing with the two meanest left hooks in boxing. The left hook was what "shot" Vargas not any particular boxer.

i think vargas lost a step after his fight with tito though

i dont think he was shot though, he gave DLH all he could handle and mosley the first time they fought he wasnt making it easy for shane

The Vargas that lost to Tito. The Vargas that lost to DLH has an * on his record because he was roided up.

Just saying it was the left hook punch in general that Vargas was not trained properly to defend against. Excellent boxer but Shane beat him with it too. Mayorga was a great puncher but did not have a great left hook so Vargas is left standing at end of fight. Vargas' skill set had one hole in it and the right boxers with the right tools found it.

The Vargas who fought Tito was a much better fighter....the one who fought Oscar lost fluidity in his punches

The Vargas that fought tito threw nice combos with fluidity
