Kessler was a 28 yr old undefeated holder of 2 belts.

Tarver was a 37 yr old who had gone 3-2 in his last 5 fights, and struggled (apparently to make weight). Tarvers fight v Muriqi shows IMO his current ability level.

Hopkins went up 2 weight classes which is impressive. But was himself coming off 2 consecutive losses.

I say Calzaghes. Basically because I never have, and never will, view Tarver as anything more than a decent LHW, who was in the right place at the right time.

Calzaghe no doubt, over the last 2 years I changed my mind on him... He is indeed a special fighter.

Calzaghes win over Kessley was much more impressive.

I have to say Calzaghe's given the level of opposition. As serious as I can get, Kessler presented far more problems at that moment than Antonio could have had to Bernard back then... Argument can be made about Bernard stepping up to 175 lbs but after taking strong Jermain Taylor twice, I feel that it was not that hard to grow into that weight and maintain counter-punching reflexes... I would consider Winky Wright a puzzle that many could have not solved though, and Calzaghe definitely underrates that B-Hop win ( lucky win he says).

Calzeghe's is more impressive. Kessler is a damn good fighter @ his peak and Joe took care of business.

Both were very impressive...I'd hate to have to pick one over the other. Hopkins moving up in weight and at 41 years old at the time was great. Calzaghe beating the younger undefeated Kessler was great also. I can't make a decision. :-(

Tarver just because I just dont think of kessler as that good...

hes average guys... cant you see that???...

Joe being great has nothing to do with Kesslers ability...

Tarver as he was favourite and the fact that he was so easily dominated he was made to look a fool and that fight ruined him.........I recall in the 11th Buddy was just telling him to hang on and not get KO'd........

Calzaghe over Kessler. Tarver was unmotivated and stepped off a movie set way overweight to get in shape for the fight.

I think Calzaghe's win over Klesler is more impresive than Hopkins win over Tarvar.

Calzaghes was over a live opponent with serious power in the prime of his career. Hopkins was a win over a fighter in his retirement years via UD who was never any great anyway even in his prime.

I think Hopkins beating Tarver was more impressive, he had to come to higher wieght to beat the champ.

Calzaghe's win over Kessler. Kessler was a younger fighter, closer to his prime - and, as the future will likely bear out, a far better fighter, too.
