Miguel Cotto winning 7 of 12 rounds against the 36 year old, full-time fighter, Shane Mosley at welterweight?

Floyd Mayweather winning 8 of 12 rounds against the 34 year old, part-time fighter, Oscar De La Hoya at jr. middleweight?

    Which was a better win?

I think the fact that PBF went up in weight to win is very impressive, but I think Shane although older than DLH is a more live body.

despite the stipulations in the odh pbf fight i still gave pbf a better chance in beating odh then cotto beating mosley, so for me id say cotto !

Shane was the better fighter at the time in my opinion, but I voted for Mayweather's win because he moved up to 154 after starting at 130. That's impressive, especially considering he did beat a good champion.

Oscar satrted at 130 as well. Just a bit earlier.

Both were good wins for the respective victors, but both were sufficiently close that the outcomes might very well have been different if the two losers had been at prime.

 Great 3rd choice in the poll.

I voted Floyd over Oscar. I just think, in time and with history, that win will be seen as bigger (plus all the other reasons stated above).

Would most people agree that a prime Floyd has a better chance against a prime Oscar than a prime Cotto has against a prime Mosely?

    Yes.

At 147, I would pick Oscar over Floyd by a slim margin at prime (52/53-48/47) . Fight could go either way.

At 140 or 147, Prime Mosley over prime Cotto, 75-25.

True, but I think De La Hoya was more used to the weight and really more comfortable at 154 than Mayweather.

    I agree.

However, Mayweather was not at 154, but 148 for their fight.
