I can't think of anything more embarassing than not only getting dominated and it made clear that you are an inferior fighter, but then getting caught jumping in and hitting the ringpost.

I'd say Pacquiao was the worst K.O. but Hatton is anything but an embarrassment.

People complained when Calzaghe didn't push himself to fight the best. Hatton does it and people make childish threads like this one to discredit a boxer who fought his way at the top to take on the very best fighters in the world.

Yeah, if it weren't for the PBF fight, the Pac destruction would be watered down to a "it wasn't his night" or "any given Sunday" or "bad socks" or "he caught me first, next time I'll catch him first" sort of portrayal. The Pac knockout was more brutal and physically damaging; the PBF knockout was after being toyed with and looking stupid for quite a long time before the ringpost and Floyd actually looked disappointed that he wouldn't be able to do a cat-with-mouse routine all the way to a shutout.

I'll say this about Calzaghe, he dominated his weak ass division. Hatton never dominated his division. He just cashed out to the highest bidder.

That was one of the most brutal knockouts ever. My question is, is Hatton incapable of gighting with his hands up? He was open for any shot.

Decent fight? It wasn't even a contest.

I will also point out that Mayweather exposed just how easily Hatton can be beat, and if you look at Manny's first KD of Ricky you will see it is exactly the same thing Floyd did to him (course with the oposite hand)

Well I only thought Hatton won a round or 2, but he made Mayweather work harder than usual and he wasn't losing his rounds by wide, dominating margins (well not most of them anyway). Harold Lederman was on his usual "the aggressor wins the round despite not landing the cleaner punches" and somehow had Hatton winning after 6, but it was reasonably competitive, much more so than Pacquiao-Hatton. It wasn't like Mayweather's fights with say, Gatti, and Bruseles.

Thats fair. But there was never a point in the fight where Mayweather was even close to not winning, he had it in the bag from the start. In fact had he been a little less cautious he likley could have scored the knock-out much earlier, but he's too smart to take those risks.

Mayweather was an experienced he had a chance to learn from.

Last night was a disaster, from start to finish: not a single redeeming factor for Hatton.
