Very few serious knowledgeable posters felt that way.

We have a lot of Calzaghe fanboys on here and we have also a lot of Calzaghe haters. That tips the scales in something like this.

A clear majority thought that Calzaghe won in the poll that followed the Hopkins fight (not that that necessarily decides the matter.)

Sue's2nd is perhaps Bernard biggest booster on here and hoped for a Bernard win.

He agreed that Joe won, as did a good many other Bernard fans.

    The judges(all American ) had it 9-3, 8-4 and 6-6.

    No doubt.

But then again, you picked Roy to lay a whuppin' on Joe, didn't you !

So b/c Bhop had a good night against Pavlik. He surprised himself. He let his hands go. He has not done that in 5 years. Everything you say is just stupid. Bhop was outpointed more clearly by JT CLOSER to his prime. Neither Roy or Joe fought a peak Bhop. Roy fought a fresher more active more aggressive version which was a little less skilled defensively but very skilled on offense. A bhop that can fight 12 rounds for 3 minutes is more dangerous than a hit and hold bhop that fights half a fight and holds the other half.

No he fought like an old man, I saw Bhops in the late 90s, he would've KO'd Pavlik in 8, Bernard is way past it, it's like when SSM beat Collazo, didn't change my views of him being way past it.

But Roy has a great right hand..lol He has a great uppercut and left hook to the temple. If Roy can handle the pace he has a great shot of putting Calzaghe on his ass once or twice. But I think Roy is to past it to finish Calzaghe. You got to be able to finish. Watching all these past fights I KNOW for damned sure James Toney at 168 prime for prime would of knocked Calzaghe out no question. Everything Calzaghe does is what JT feasted off of. He always lunges in chin in the air. James Toney would of cracked that big ass head.

You need an introductory course in logic.

    The thread question asks:

Which was the better Hopkins ? Calzaghe's or Jones' ?

It didn't ask who won or lost in either fight.

That's a separate (but still easy to answer) question.

    Sorry Pretty.

I got mixed up because I had seen this

Maybe you didn't pick Roy to win.

And you have a good track record on knowing 'bout Roy.

You picked him to beat Calzaghe on Saturday night last, didn't you ?

I still believe the Hopkins that fought Echol's in 97 was better than both of those options.
