Both opponents were very good. Wilder finished the fight in better fashion, but Joshua controlled the fight in better fashion.
Wilder had to come back from a tough place after Ortiz stunned him, Joshua was sort of in cruise control but looked vulnerable throughout Wilder
According to AJ fanboys, Joshua was supposed to beat Parker easily by stopping him and Wilder was supposed to lose to ol' Luis by KTFO. They leave me no choice, Wilder's win over Ortiz was better.
Wilder couldn't use his natural advantages to control Ortiz. Joshua used his natural advantages to control Parker, who is without question a faster puncher than Ortiz. Some are confusing 'entertaining fight' with a 'controlled fight'.
I'd say Joshua-Parker because Joshua was never in any danger and controlled the fight all the way whilst Wilder was outboxed for large portions of the fight and was close to being stopped at one point.
Because?.. Am I saying Wilder boxed better? No? I'm saying it was the better win cos he was put to the test there..
Agree with this. As a fan watching, Wilder Ortiz was far more entertaining. I get why people enjoy watching wilder and I warmed to the heart he showed. It was a good win against a talented opponent nearing the end of his career. But as Bellew likes to say, this is boxing not fighting. Hit and don't get hit. AJ controlled the fight against an unbeaten champion at his physical prime. He finished the fight unscathed and added another belt along the way. Job done.
That doesn't make sense. If Joshua was knocked down twice by Price and eventually won on points would it be a better win than Povetkins because he was 'put to the test' more? Washington gave Wilder more problems than Parker gave Joshua....Is Washington a better win?
