We had this thread about a week ago and most had it for Barrera vs Morales bt after last night's fight I think some may change their mind.

I still say Morales Barrera, just because those fights always went to the very end. The first two Vasquez Marquez fights ended in the middle rounds.

Yeah but they were some very explosive rounds.

No doubt. The things we never got in Morales Barrera were devastating stoppages. It's hard to pick.

I didn't even vote....its a tough one. I would like to lean towards vazquez/marquez but the barrera/morales trilogy had more rounds involved and showed better defensive tactics. But honestly vazquez/marquez III might be the best fight I have ever seen

    That's a good post

Barrera and Morales displayed more defensive awareness, versatility, and technical skills, but Marquez and Vazquez provided more consistent, brutal action.

It's really been an honor to watch these Mexican warriors go at it.

Rafael toned down his skills to make it a good fight. He is much more of a boxer that sets up a one hitter quitter. He was trading way too much with Vasquez and that is not his game. Plus he moved up to take Vasquez on. That has to be taken into consideration.

    Tie.

Well, probably Barrera-Morales since it involves greater fighters. I think Barrera and Morales are greater than Vasquez and Marquez.

Unless you're judging the fight per se, which would be more subjective.

As a trilogy - I vote Marquez and Vasquez.

I mean, the quality of the fighters and their greatness is not to be questioned, Barerra and Morales have pretty much had their careers and shown us all their incredible level of awesomeness.

But - For sheer drama and action, the V/M "thrillogy" is just stunning.

Barerra - Morales.....higher skill involved, better chins, storyline was awesome with Morales from poor Tijuana and Barerra from Mexico City and they hated each other !

Action: Vazquez vs Marquez (still a ton of skill)

Skill: Barrera vs Morales (still a ton of action)

if their was a tie option i'd choose it. but i'd say marquez - vasquez was slightly better, and i'm a big morales fan (i like mab too).

barrera - morales 1 was a great action fight, one of the best of the past 20 years. 2nd one was morales out boxing mab early, but turned into a gun fight later on. 3rd one was still great, but it took morales some rounds to get into the fight. these came some years apart as well, with out any one of them bringing momentum to the fight from their previous meetings.

compare to marquez - vasquez. 3 fights against one another in less than 2 years, which were tighly contested, action packed affairs from the start to finish.
