So it means the fights Bowe 2 and Tyson 1. Tyson's disqualification in the second fight is not a subject of discussion.

Tyson is by far the best win of his career some members have told me here that after Holyfield beat Tyson some were rating him as a top 3 Heavyweight of all time.

Bowe imo even though it was far less conclusive, he was a killer at his best and it’s a terrible shame he ducked Lewis.

Bowe was unbeaten when Holy beat him, Tyson had already been beat by Douglas, Bowe performed better v Holy than Tyson did.

Both are amazing. But both Tyson fights are great wins legacy-wise, vast majority of (boxing) people thought Tyson would ko him. and boy he did prove everyone wrong with toughness, mental strenght and 101 boxing (headbutts vs elbows, sure, gotta do what you gotta do)

On paper it's Bowe. He has more left in the tank when Holyfield beat him. Bowe was arguably the greater h2h threat than Tyson at the time that they fought Holyfield.

We know in hindsight Tyson wasn't who he used to be in the Holyfield fights, but his name and career are rated higher overall than Bowe. So if we're going by legacy/name value it's Tyson. Holyfield absolutely needed to fight him (and beat him) or his resume would've been torn to shreds.

Hindsight evaluations are manipulable to the interpreter’s liking though, should matter little.
If Tyson was viewed as a bigger force at the time, and I go there and beat him, whatever happens next is unusable to the discussion of that fight in particular, especially because nobody knows if what happened next was not because of what I did to the guy like Chavez vs Taylor.

That only proves Holyfield's win over Tyson should be rated higher than his win against Bowe. Tyson was seen as the bigger threat at the time. Some people even wanted Holyfield to retire and had written him off.

In terms of actually evaluating Holyfield as a fighter Bowe. His win in Bowe II is arguably the most difficult thing he accomplished in his career, it seems to be his apex H2H and he proved he was the man at heavy.

in terms of Legacy and with the general public it’s Tyson by far. Holyfield is one of the most significant American athletes of the last 40 years but his 30 for 30 is called “Chasing Tyson”

Chavez and Taylor were among the top 3 fighters p4p in 90 just behind Tyson, by 96 Tyson wasn`t even in the P4P ratings.

Bowe had just knocked Holy out just before he beat Tyson.

Not important, because Holyfield wasn´t either, and HWs mostly aren´t anyway.

Point is that Tyson was viewed just fine by people, so much that he was a big favorite to win. "No, it was more about Holyfield not being well, he had a heart condition" not important either, glass half full and half empty, same ****.

If Tyson was as done as people now say, he should have never be no favorite, at least the bout would be evenly viewed. Holyfield won a fight that people thought he could not.

My point in in 89-90 Tyson was the top P4P fighter in the world by the mid 90`s he wasn`t, the general public know nothing about boxing or what quality boxing is.

No general public. Who is talking about general public, not me... I am talking about bookmakers and boxing people.
