This is stiff competition. On one hand, I want to give it to Margo. He beat a fighter who Shane beat 10 years ago, and then proceeded to prance around the ring and call elite fighters out as if his win actually meant something. Then again, I guess I have to give it to Cassa, because he didnt actually win. :-(
I'd say Margarito's win is more meaningless, but Casamayor's win hurts him. Casamayor's win does mean something: he "beat" a contender and kept the only thing he really has now (the RING Lightweight Title). Had he lost, the effects would be devestating and he would be in a bad position career-wise. Margarito's win doesn't mean much. All it shows is that he's clearly in another class than Golden Johnson - as if we didn't already know that. More meaningless? Margarito TKO1 Johnson
Casamayor. Sure Johnson is way past it, but he earned his payday with his knockout over Oscar Diaz. Casamayor blatantly lost. Absolutely sickening.
Not only did Casamayor did not win, he got shut out. Whoever Margarito beat, at least he beat him fast and good.
I think the fact that Casamayor officially scored a "win" hurts him much more than if Santa Cruz had correctly been given the decision. Not only has he been completely exposed as being nowhere near the best lightweight, despite having the Ring Belt (an increasingly meaningless accolade). But there has been so much outrage from forum posters and boxing writers, which adds much more attention to what happened.
