The thing is, Jones beat Hopkins clearly. Jones and Hopkins were also closer to their respective primes and basically at the same point in their careers...than Hopkins was vs Calzaghe....where Joe (tho out of his prime clearly) was much more closer to his best then Bernard was.

Both were fantastic wins, but because of what I outlined above...Id go with Jones.

Look what Hopkins has done. He was lightheavyweight champion and Roid ran from Hopkins for years. Why? Because Hopkins improved over the years. Roid was knocked out cold by Tarver and Johnson. Hopkins was very inexperienced when he fought Roid, learned on the job. He tried to get Roid to fight him, but Roid always refused. Roid also refused to fight Michalczewski for years.

Calzaghe did not outbox Hopkins, he didn't out-punch him or out-think him either, he simply set to high of a pace for a 43-year old man to cope with, which sounds better when you mention that the 43-year old man is Bernard Hopkins, but it is still no GREAT acheivement, or anything even remotely spectacular.

Neither fought the best B-Hop, but RJJ's win was much more clear than Calzaghe's, so I'll say he deserves more credit for beating Hopkins than does Calzaghe. It was much more significant (and really essential) to Calzaghe's career to beat Hopkins than it is to Jones career as Hopkins was not considered anything special at the time. So, Jones has the better win, but Calzaghe's is more significant to his career.
