Anyone actually think Pascal does much against a prime Moorer at 175? Just what top notch fighters does Pascal defeat at that weight?

Moorer had the superior credentials between he and Pascal going into their respective title shots.
And was a superior looking fighter. I'm willing to go out on a limb of sorts and do not think Pascal has very little success at heavy--moving up just like Moorer did--in today's lack of talent heavyweight division. But this stems back to a world of 4 titles. Everyone usually takes the path of least resistance, but factor in the lh division in recent times has been in a flat spot and it's been a long long time since I've been impressed with a can't miss looking up and coming prospect in that usually talented division. The best are usually moving up in weight but one thing it hasn't been in a long time is a division full of landmines.

Dawson is a better win at 175 than Moorer ever had at that weight.

Moorer would likely stop Pascal or Dawson at 175, imo. Both guys have the finishing ability of a one-shot squirt gun against serious opposition. Have any of you guys noticed how they continuously get hurt even though Pascal is supposed to be some tank that can't be put on his arse without a slippery logo? I don't trust these chins against Moore nor their punches to stop him before they're stopped. Glen Johnson had Dawson in a world of trouble in their first fight. Imagine Moorer in there...BHOP has a 0% knockout ratio in the last six and a half years and eleven fights. He was ringing Pascal's bell here and there. I actually think Dawson could've stopped Pascal without the cut or a gut transplant prior to their bout and I feel certain Pascal being a better finisher had numerous opportunities to stop Dawson in that heartless fight he put up in the majority of their match

Not to make excuses for Dawson but he wasnt even in the ring that night. I think a focused Dawson easily beats Pascal. Dawson is a good fighter, but he seems to think he needs to start over every other year and hire a new trainer. Hes still making some **** poor amatuer mistakes backing straight up and leaving himself wide open, but I dont think Hopkins has the fire power to exploit it enough.

Oddly enough watching Dawson saturday night, he reminded me a bit of Moorer especially throwing his right counter hook and his lack of fire in the ring, but he doesnt seem to have the power that Moorer had.

Pascal is a talentless fighter. Hopkins win does not come near the win Foreman had over Moorer. Foreman knocked Moorer out. Hopkins decisioned one of the worst examples of champion in boxing history. The top 10 rated LH'S of the 60's would walk right thru Pascal. Guys like Pastrano, Thornton, Mina, De PAULA, Foster, Cotton, Torres, Dupree, Rouse, Kendal, Peralta come to mind.

Hopkins won by out-boxing his opponent, Foreman won out on a power punch. Then again, match Pascal up with even a young un-tested, pre-prime Moorer, he probably gets stopped.

As excellent as the de la Hoya's, Lil Floyd's, the real fun Latino invasion and of course one rather good Filipino are/were, boxing in the last 20 years or so, has just not caught the imagination of the public like it once did.

Well, Foreman was much further away from his prime and beat a MUCH MUCH MUCH MUCH MUCH MUCH better opponent.

Foreman > Hopkins and Moorer >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Pascal

i think the state of foreman and the public perception should be a big factor

hopkins is still pound for pound and was thought of as such going into the fight
foreman was barely, if at all, considered a top 10 heavyweight at the time

    hopkins was favoured by most
    foreman was a huge underdog

hopkins put on (from what i heard) a better all around performance
foreman made a one in a million shot

in the end i think george foreman has the better accomplishment considering the circumstance. he beat a better opponent, when he was not even close to his peak

it was not a great win. Moorer was a weak chinned champion and not a great heavyweight champion. And Pascal is not a great champion either. Everytime a guy wins this record there is something weak about the opponent.

Moorer had a terrible chin and was not that great an opponent.
