Tyson by far. Schmeling looked like he could have gotten up though not quick enough to beat the count.Spinks looked like he was dying.

Schmeling was hospitalized for 10 days with two vertebrae broken in his spine and a broken jaw.

After the fight, there were rumors that Schmeling had died from his injuries. Reports of Schmelings demise were greatly exaggerated as he would live almost another 67 years.

I believe Max Schmeling picked Tyson to beat Spinks.

There were rumors that Spinks had died after the fight but it was covered up because being one of the biggest and most overhyped boxing matches of all time shown to billions worldwide, it would have killed boxing as a sport had they revealed that Spinks had died from the fight. This is why Spinks never fought again and why a double shows up in public to give a brief interview to keep up the pretence every decade or so.

Good thing the internet wasn't around then.

I dont think it was overhyped as many at the time gave Spinks a real chance at victory and up to that point there was no reason to expect a blowout

I think Spinks knew how to fight Tyson, it's just when he entered the ring by the look in his eyes you'd have thought he was going to the guillotine.
