And Pac was staggered by a former BW coming up 2 weight classes to fight him, Pac must have been damaged goods. Honestly, what is your point?

If the Floyd fight had been at Hatton's weight, I'd have gone with that(undefeated and ranked higher). As it wasn't, I'll go Pac. Hatton was unbeaten at 'his' weight and favoured to win. The style of Pac's victory and the lack of a douche ref spoiling the spectacle also help.

Honestly both were great victories......Floyd had Ricky when he was undefeated. Ricky was at the height of his popularity and I considered him to be in his prime....Ricky moved up to 147 to face Floyd, but everyone knew he was limited but Ricky was relentless. He gave a great performance in there with Floyd....took Floyd 10 hard rounds and had Floyd stating Ricky was his hardest fight ever. Floyd KO'd him in 10.

PAC faught Ricky a year later at Ricky's BEST weight at 140. Ricky in my opinion was still in his prime...only loosing to the very best in a physical 10 round fight but not really taking any kind of a beating from Floyd. Sure he got KO'd but Ricky now had Floyd Sr training him! And Ricky said he had his best camp ever with Sr. He was ready and prepared for Manny and many felt Ricky was going to win. PAC destroyed him in 2.

I think it's safe to say PAC's win over ricky has a bit more signifigance when looked at from all angles.

I call a spade a spade bro. Are you really going to tell me that you were surprised that Floyd dominated JMM at WW? How am I not surprised Nall?

i respect your post minus the "oscar was a proven WW" MAYBE 10 YEARS PRIOR HE WAS PROVEN...THAT WOULD BE LIKE FLOYD MOVING BACK DOWN TO LIGHTWEIGHT AND SAYING "HE IS A PROVEN LW"...THAT WAS 7 YEARS AGO..

OSCAR WAS MOS DEF NOT A "PROVEN WW" WHEN HE FOUGHT MANNY...MANY FANS ON ESB AND CASUAL FANS THOUGHT OSCAR WOULD STRUGGLE IN 1 OR ANOTHER GOING DOWN TO 47...HE DID TOO AS SHOWED IN HIS FIGHT...NOT TAKIN ANYTHING AWAY FROM MANNY AS HE DID WHAT HE HAD TO DO...BUT GO LOOK AT PICS OF OSCAR FOR THE MANNY FIGHT AND THAN FOR THE FLOYD FIGHT...TOTAL DIFFERENCE..OSCAR WAS THE BEST AT 154 WHEN FLOYD FOUGHT HIM BTW...AT THE TIME THERE WAS NOT A BETTER FIGHTER AT THAT WEIGHT...NICE POST AND ILL AGREE TO DISAGREE BUT SAYIN OSCAR WAS A PROVEN WW IS NOT FACT

    Wait, everyone expected that result?

You weren't around these boards back then or what?

A simple search will set that record straight bro.

If you examine ALL of the facts it is obvious.

Mayweather/Hatton - He was undefeated and had an intact training camp. (Although I felt Collazo outboxed him.)

Pacquiao/Hatton - He fired his boxing coach. Hired a boxer's boxing coach and his second kept giving different instructions.

In the ring Pac's win seemed devastating, but it has to be taken in context like most of Pac's WW wins.

The Floyd-JMM-Pac scenario is totally different from the Pac-Hatton-Floyd scenario, that comparison is useless.

Anyway, Pac's win was more emphatic. It's not just the KO... Hatton was never in the fight and then boom got KO'd. No... he was dominated every second of it.

Hatton hasn't had a good word to say about Mayweather Sr since the fight, he said when he should have been taking it easy Mayweather Sr was pushing him more which made him peak for the fight too early and he felt like **** fight night.

He didn't go from his prime to completely finished in the space of 5 minutes either.

I know.....He had a lot of negative things to say after the fight...Sr himself has went on to come up with all the excuses to why Ricky lost too. But both were singing the same tune before the fight and both felt they were going to beat Manny. I don't think Ricky was finished when he lost to manny. Some think he was base on how badly he lost. I know Ricky is limited but so was Rocky marciano and Jake Lamatta. But like Ricky they had an iron will and a style that was relentless. Ricky may not be the best technical fighter but you don't become a world champion by being a B or C level fighter.
