Which would you rather see? Calzaghe V Dawson or Calzaghe V Pavlik?

bigger fight , more of a spectacle, more money.

i do think dawson is a harder fight style for style than pavlik though.

 

Calzaghe - Dawson because in my mind calzaghe - pavlik is a foregone conclusion, calzaghe takes him to school boxing

 

Calzaghe will get far more out of Dawson. Pavlik - been there, done that.

To be compared to the really greats there is one thing Calzaghe hasn't done: Meet a champion who is naturally bigger and won. Pavlik would be the opposite - a middle weight. Athough Pavlik may be just as good as Dawson in a p4p sense, the fight doesn't do anything for Calzaghe.

Calzaghe - Dawson on the other hand would be good. Dawson is still a bit green, but he will in his further carreer collect points for Calzaghe if J beats him.

On what we've seen from Dawson, especially his last performance, how would you see Calzaghe v. Dawson going, sean?

 

calzaghe-pavlik is more relevant, so id like to see that fight first.

Assuming he beats BHop, his achievements will be of a higher order than Dawson's.

Good thread. Very difficult choice, I'd love to see both fights. I think Calzaghe v Pavlik would be more exciting so I want that purely because it would be a better spectacle, but in the end I edge towards Calzaghe v Dawson simply because it will be a clash between the two top light-heavyweights in the world to see who is the king of the division - that's a prize worth winning, whereas a fight with Pavlik is really just a one-off fight with a middleweight jumping more than one division.

 

Pavlik, it'll just be funny to be on here when Calzaghe gives him a boxing lesson.

 

Calzaghe is the best, but what makes you so sure Dawson is second best, with Hopkins still around, for example?
