Both Latinos overcame adversity, both SD...disputed wins. I think Quartey was a better offensive fighter than Clottey, but Clottey far less Fragile around the whiskers. I am going with COttos over clottey as he was handicapped with a gash for the whole fight, though De LA Hoyas 12th rnd vs Quartey was spectacular, to this day I still think that was Oscars best moment even better than VArgas.
You can make a case that both latinos lost those fights but anyway Quartey was a better fighter than Clottey so i pick Oscar's win as the better win.
DLH-Quartey. More drama, and skill involved. I miss the 90's welters. Cotto is a wannabe Tito, and Clottey is a wannabe Ike.
like I said clottey is far better defensively than Quartey, I think cotto would have been able to hurt Quartey, I also think Quartey could hurt Cotto.
DLH vs Quartey was a better fight ... both guys were undefeated and champions. both guys hit the canvas and it was the first time i'd even seen DLH knocked down (I know he's been knocked down before that but its the first time i'd seen it) more on the line with that fight ... Cotto vs Clottey wasn't that far off ... I liked the back and fourth action ... the great boxing display ... and the drama at the end of the fight.
Cotto's hook is not on the level of a prime DLH's. Its nowhere close actually. Ike would have smoked Cotto.
