While Cotto is P4P material and Margarito isn't...

I'm starting to think Margarito is going to win this fight. I very well may end up eating my words here, but I think that head to head it's Margo's fight to lose.

    Why?

Simply put, I think Margarito's strengths exploit Cotto's question marks/weaknesses more than Cotto's strengths exploit Margarito's question marks/weaknesses.

It's going to be a hell of a fight and boxing will ultimately be the winner. I'm slightly - if not hesitantly - leaning towards margarito based on the above theory....slightly...

What I'm almost positive about, though, is that the fight will not be close. I'm pretty sure one or the other is going to end up running away with it.

Undoubtedly this is the case; however, many (including myself) believe that the one advantage Cotto has is great enough to win him the day.

Cotto is going to have his will tested very quickly in this fight. He's always had the luxury of being the stronger more forceful combatant. Here against Margarito he'll have to demonstrate true quality, durability, and genuine talents as an athlete and tactician to have any sort of chance whatsoever.

It's truly a shame so many people expect Cotto to prevail fairly easily. He will have to move mountains to pull this off. Antonio Margarito was born to beat Miguel Cotto. Tomorrow night will be the worst nightmare of Cotto's family, fans, and the man himself. I'm a little scared for him, I hope he doesn't get seriously hurt.

I wouldn't say that, and to those who DO tend to think this way, I would remind u that Cotto had a short but meaningful campaign at jr. welterweight, an amateur background and olympic stage, where he often fought bigger and stronger opponents.

What are we talking about here though? Stuff that's relative to the point and worth mentioning, or a fight when he was 14 and he fought a 17 year old? Even if it's just as a pro, when did Cotto have an opponent who was physically stronger and more forceful than he? When he fought Abdualaev as an amateur Miguel was a boy and physically weaker - guess what? He lost that fight. Same thing with Pinto, Cotto was younger and less physically imposing and guess what? He lost that fight.

Yeah, I realize Cotto has been outgunned before. He loses when that happens.

Have u watched those fights??? neither of those were lost on the basis of physical strength---just points my friend.

and I'd say that N'Dou was more physically imposing than Cotto epecially landing a haymaker right all night.

I disagree with everything you're saying here, my friend. Would I have referred to these fights if I hadn't seen them? I'd suggest you watch them again if that is what you think.

N'dou just kept coming forward. That's part of Miguel's mental makeup and has nothing to do with who was stronger. Cotto is stronger than N'dou, that's a big no brainer.

This is a subjective argument anyway. Tomorrow will settle all arguments.

I guess we'll have to see what happens tomorrow.
