On every level this makes sense , lets look at the situation .

Every fighter worth his salt @167 is tied up barring Bute , who could replace Taylor if he loses again to Ward .

160 is a poor poor division in terms of names PPV attraction's , paydays , genuine world class opponents etc etc .

Williams & Martinez have un finished business , so therefore depending on how Pavlik Williams goes (in terms of , if its that close , or if its a blistering fight there could be an instant re match) the fight following should be the winner fighting Martinez !!!!!

And the plot thickens , maybe there could be a trilogy forming here , even if Williams was to lose against Pavlik or vice versa @160 they would still be relevant and the fans would still wanna see Williams Martinez 2 , Pavlik Martinez etc etc !!!!!

    Thoughts ????

Confused by the concept of 'a trilogy' involving three fighters...

No, because neither Williams nor Martinez are Middleweights; and, whilst Martinez would make things difficult for Pavlik for a few rounds, neither he nor Williams would last 12.

We just need lots of good fights at 154 between the top players, and unification at 160.

Its hard to blame Pavlik for going after Williams but to be honest the idea of Williams or Martinez in the ring with Pavlik annoys me a little. Its frustrating that 160 is so shithouse that the man there would have to go after smaller guys, particularly ones who aren't even going to bring big mainstream appeal to the table. I guess i shouldn't complain though they would make for decent match ups, particularly in comparison with the current crop of MW's.

    Really ?????

Pavlik Williams , followed by the winner fighting Martinez , followed down the line by the winner of that fighting the loser of Pavlik Williams providing the 1st fight was close and competetive !!!!

    Exactly ...........

After Williams Martinez i think Martinez @160 is realistic at least on paper , Williams brings about as much main stream appeal to the table as Pavlik id say , why would we wanna see Sturm and Mundine and the other drivvel @160 fighting Pavlik !!!!!!!

Maybe they should have a 6 sided ring and all fight at once.
